Product Description

Every one is familiar with suffering in some way. After losing his wife to brain cancer, Finch sought to understand God's sovereignty in the midst of his suffering. In Unmapped Darkness, Finch takes you through the reality of life's storms, shows that God is a very present power even in the most difficult of circumstances, and explains how you can ride out suffering and find value in the experience. Includes reflection questions at the end of each chapter.

Publisher's Description

Based on the Theology of Suffering course Dr. Finch teaches at Moody Bible Institute, this examination of the reality of evil and suffering in the world provides a framework to understand it, along with a pathway to cope with it. The author examines the reality of and causes of suffering, then points readers to the light of the Trinity, the Cross, God's point of view, and finally, to how a person experiences suffering. Suffering points to the mystery of life itself. It does something to a person, it reduces their tolerance of superficiality, writes Finch.

I thought it is just another testimony book about the author. I was thinking to give my friend who is experiencing the some physical and emotional suffering. I have read some of books about suffering, but it is better. It explains clear and deep about suffering, not just theory.

When friends are going through trials, consoling them or offering aid doesn't always ease their pain. This book can give a good deal of understanding to someone who wants to help. A friend of mine has been suffering for most of her life from a variety of losses. I needed something substantial to help me help her. This book helped me understand ways in which I might do so.

THIS BOOK IS AN EXCELLENT READ FOR ANYONE THAT IS GOING THROUGH A BATTLE, VALLEY OR STRUGGLE OF ANY KIND. TOO OFTEN WE FIND OURSELVES ALL ALONE IN OUR BATTLES, MUCH LIKE JOB IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, BUT AS "UNMAPPED DARKNESS" SHOWS US, WE ARE NEVER ALONE... GOD IS WITH US JUST AS HE PROMISED HE WOULD BE.
