Author Bio

Musician and instructor Paul DeVille published a series of Carl Fisher self-instruction books between 1893 and 1906, including guides for accordion, concertina, banjo, flute, clarinet, guitar, mandolin, trombone, piano, and violin. He noted in a Preface that the saxophone — a relative newcomer, invented in 1840 — was his favorite instrument.
