A book well worth reading even if it rehashes memories of failed relationships. Remembering that Jesus gave His life to secure back intimacy of mans relationship with God is so apprporiate even as we enter into Spring and remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So use this simply written but profound book to strengthen yourself to love like Jesus did. #neverunfriended. Thank you Lisa-Jo for allowing me to be a part of your launch team!
Feels Like it was Written Specifically for Me // Encouraging and Challenging!
April 4, 2017
I'll be completely honest. I'm only half-way through the book. But half-way is enough for me to jump on here on release day and shout out to all the ladies that this is a must-read. It is raw and honest and challenging and beautiful and grace-filled and encouraging. And it is needed. So very needed. Lisa-Jo combines courageous, transparent stories with solid, gospel-centered teaching to provide a book that is timely, refreshing, and just lovely. I feel like it was written specifically for me. Lisa-Jo's words have made me cry, made me furiously underline many sentences in whole-hearted agreement, made me think hard, and made me swell with hope. Y'all. This book is special. You're going to want to dive in and soak this one up.
This is a book everyone needs to read, regardless of age, race or gender! Never Unfriended helps you understand why you may struggle to make friends and how to be a good friend all at the same time. Be ready to read, re-read, high light and star line after line and page after page as Lisa-Jo Baker's words seem written exactly for you, your heart and friendship situations.
Through personal testimony and candid stories from real life, Lisa-Jo Baker reminds us that while friendship can be messy, sometimes hard, uncomfortable and awkward if we're willing to take the risk it can end up being far more good than bad. How do you ask? By realizing the most faithful friend who ever lived - Jesus - will never unfriend you! When we start to outlive the lies we have surrounding friendship and instead begin living from a place of knowing we were always planned and wanted and included from before the beginning of time...hurt from friendship will be drowned out by a new message of knowing you are necessary, not invisible, named and seen and have relevance!
Who would have thought a book over friendship would touch a person so deeply? All of my adult life I have struggled with friendship. So many times I placed the blame elsewhere. Not any more. I now better understand how to be a friend. I hope and pray women everywhere get their hands on this book. We need to teach this to our daughters, nieces, friends, every female! The world would be a much better place!
