This Beautiful story of redemption is Biblically accurate yet geared for young ladies and provides a female role model. Rahab's profession is handled delicately and vaguely, as in "spending time with people who didn't love her" and made "bad choices", making it appealing to read to even the youngest children. Also this demonstrates that no one is beyond rescue by the love and grace of Christ. Rahab is a great example of someone who is brave in the face of danger for what she believes in. Her selflessness is richly rewarded by the Lord.

As a mom of 3 daughters age 3, 9 and 10, I highly recommend this book for all ages. As a Children's Ministry Director I know all the kids in our church would enjoy and learn from it.

Our family is building a collection of Called and Courageous Girls books and have begun gifting them to our nieces. Highly recommend all of the series!

My 6-year-old daughter and I love the stories of Miriam, Deborah, and Priscilla in the Called and Courages Girls series, and we were both very excited to read this new book about Rahab! I love that these books highlight the brave and influential women who were involved in the Bible stories we grow up studying.

With a little creative freedom, the authors tell the story of Rahab in a beautiful way that is appropriate for children. They also provide the scripture verses so you can read the story of Rahab straight from the Bible. This story shows how a brave woman, desperate for change from the poor choices she made, made a courageous choice to help the people of God. In doing so she discovered the love of God.

My daughter looks forward treading this book, and the other Called and Courageous Girls books. The stories are engaging and the illustrations a bright and beautiful.

    Courage to Trust

This beautiful picture book teaches about the deep truths of following God and of God's love for each of us.

Rahab chooses to trust in God in the face of scary circumstances. Her choices bring her deliverance in more than one way and provides salvation not only for herself, but her family as well.

This series of books are beautiful retellings of courageous women in the Bible.

The illustrations are so pretty and charming.

I received a copy of this book to review and all opinions are completely my own.

Things I liked about the book:

Before the story began, the scripture references were shared that mention Rahab. And it explains that Rahab is a heroine of the Old Testament, and this is the author imagining how the events of the biblical narrative occurred.

Illustration seem realistic and narrate a different time and culture for our current generation who may not be able to imagine a world without technology! The illustrations also help bring the story to life.

Way Rahab's career is explained--"Rahab began spending time with people who didn't really love her and who treated her poorly. She made a lot of bad choices." Child sensitive but honest.

Rahab's wonders that reveal her thinking-- Could the God of the Israelites love me too?, Would God listen to Rahab?

The way the dialogue and story is told with Rahab having many choices, and processing how her choice could impact her. As well as the Israelites' God's role in her life.

The story concludes with Rahab discovering that God loved her too, and that she became a part of the greatest Story on Earth- connected to Jesus.

Reflection Questions at the end. Great higher level thinking questions to help children comprehend and apply the knowledge of God in their lives.

Author/Illustrator note at the end of the book- how we celebrate Rahab's courage.

Well written and true to the Biblical narrative, yet embellished to bring it to life.

    Wonders:

illustrations are layered and have a 3D element- I like them, but sometimes the faces might be creepy to children, and other pages they are clear and full of emotions.

How the illustrator created them- with digital and traditional mediums. I wish it told us more about it.

This is my first called and courageous girls book- are the others this good? and well done? I think I may need to find out!

Could some of the verses be quoted about Rahab in the text to connect it better?

Harvest Partner- blessed to get an advance copy
