Under the Texas Mistletoe is a literary Christmas treasure! All three novellas in this collection are a joy to read! The debut novella, 'A Texas Christmas Carol' is a delightful reimagining of the Christmas classic, written in Karen's characteristic style, with intelligent wit, engaging characters and beautifully integrated faith lessons. 'An Archer Family Christmas,' appearing for the first time in print in this collection, is a must read for any Archer Family fans. And last, but certainly not least, 'Gift of the Heart' is a beautiful story of love after loss and overcoming the circumstances of life through faith in God and cherishing the gifts one has in their life. I greatly enjoyed all three novellas, the Christmas devotional, the historic Christmas facts and the bonus recipes which make up this collection. Buy yourself a treat this Christmas with Under the Texas Mistletoe!

I received a complimentary copy from Bethany House on behalf of the author and was not obligated to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own

I just love this book. It's like it's own little Christmas gift, like stocking stuffers packed together in one bundle of words. So wonderful!

"A Texas Christmas Carol" was super clever! I truly enjoyed Felicity and Evan's interactions. I love the grumpy meets sunshine situation, and I especially love it with Witemeyer's trademark humor thrown in.

"An Archer Family Christmas" made me so happy! It was like being among friends again, with the whole Archer clan represented. But in true Archer fashion, danger and drama aren't far behind the beloved family. This novella was hard on the heart, but was such a demonstration of God's kindness even when life doesn't work out the way we want it to.

"Gift of the Heart" was my favorite of the three, though I loved them all. But this one . . . *happy sigh*. It's just all of the right things. Ruth and Bo and Naomi and a cat wrongly named Miss Creant . . . *happy sigh again*. I love Ruth's story in the Bible, and this was a beautifully reimagined story.

Sprinkled in with these lovely novellas are recipes, a short devotional from Witemeyer, and a brief history lesson on some of our Christmas traditions. This book is just Christmas in a bundle and any fan of historical Christian fiction should have this book for their collection!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. All expressed opinions belong to me.

A Texas Christmas Carol. I loved how Felicity is the perfectly charming antidote to Eben's tough demeanor. Their interactions are fun and their romance is believable. The lesson of learning the true meaning of Christmas is well woven in the story. This novella is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. An Archer Family Christmas. It is such a treat to be able to read more about the Archer family. This novella has some sad moments but the thread of hope is well integrated in the story and the plot has a satisfying conclusion. The story flows well and is fast paced and I had a hard time setting this one aside. The themes of family and faith are once again strong and make a great overall story. Gift of the Heart. With amusing bits and charming wit, this novella shines the brightest in this collection. There are several Biblical connections in the story that are such a neat link. I like that the characters are strong in spirit, but also relatable and needing to rely on God's strength just like we do. This story did not feel like a novella for it flowed as well as a full length novel. I greatly enjoyed this story.

Each of these novellas has charm, romance, and faith that together create a collection that is well worth the read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This collection is fantastic! The stories are wonderful, and the added bonuses of a Christmas devotional, recipes, and a bit of history on some cherished Christmas traditions sprinkled between the novella stories make this a can't miss book for anyone who loves Christmas! The first story in the collection is a take on Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" and it's absolutely charming. Evan Beazer is a perfect representation of a Scroogelike character and Felicity is a charming foil to his cranky miserly self. A truly fun story about someone learning what is truly important during the Christmas season. In "An Archer Family Christmas" we get a new visit with the beloved Archer family. It's a fast paced and exciting Christmas Eve story with a couple of sad bits but a happy ending. I loved getting to see the Archers again! The last story is actually one that released previously in the novella collection "The Christmas Heirloom" with three other authors. It has an adorable little girl and a spunky cat which makes for a fun sweet story, which is basically the type of stories Karen is known for writing. It is a great story and full of Christmas spirit. This is a set I will read over and over, there is no doubt. A completely charming set of stories guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit, no matter what time of year!

I did receive a copy from the author for review, however, I also purchased the audio copy of this book as well as an additional paper copy to get a special edition with a bonus story not found in the regular edition. All thoughts are my own.

Delightful trio of stories with great bonuses: a Baby Jesus devotional, a nice summary of traditions and two sweet recipes.

    A TEXAS CHRISTMAS CAROL

Clever Texas Twist on an old favorite. Great play on names. Evan has a heart that has turned hard and cynical but Felicity is determined to thaw it. Watch as a beautiful transformation takes place, and for the true meaning of Christmas to shine through.

    AN ARCHER FAMILY CHRISTMAS

A family Christmas gathering turns into a fight for the life of a newborn and hope for Cass and Jim Archer. The author once again brings faith and family together and shows the Archer clan can pose a formidable united front.

    GIFT OF THE HEART

Reminiscent of the story of Ruth and Boaz. Widow Ruth with her small daughter, Naomi, starts a new life in a resort town as a cook. The only thing of value she has is an heirloom brooch that she uses for collateral. Resort owner Bo keeps it for her in exchange for rent on a cottage . Ms. Witemeyer spins a beautiful Christmas time story of new beginnings with wit and romance.
