This is a serious film that depicts moments of tremendous suffering emotionally. Like Courageous it highlights the importance of fatherhood. It also highlights redemption as the male protagonist accepts Jesus in prison and the female protagonist finds grace in hearing of another man's innocence. For the size of the films budget, a lot was done to make the film beautiful to look at with some visually gorgeous shots of landscapes in the country. Yet the sometimes starkness if the city was captured. This film also has some fun moments showing kids who had challenges but also showing that when Christian adults show them care, much joy can come.
This film had me in tears not once or twice but 3 times. I can't recall the last time a film did that to me. I also can't recall the last time a film made me cry joy filled tears of thankfulness for being saved by the Lord.
Last comment is that I think this film has some adult themes and would be best viewed by people over the age of 14.
