Megan5 Stars Out Of 5Shaped my 2018/19 Winter for the Better :)January 14, 2019Megan"Uncluttered" by Ellis was a fast, fun, and helpful read. Courtney is honest and funny. She changed her priorities to leave more and more room for God, and she shares to help us do the same. It was grounding and thought provoking to read over Christmas with so many competing voices. This book has been a guiding voice as I make decisions about our family schedule and encouraged me to prayerfully consider what to add to our lives.
Ellis is well read and uses that to encourage. For example she shares in a down to earth way about the need for Sabbath without getting pedantic and incorporates some of the best authors on the subject.
Connie5 Stars Out Of 5Delightful to read. Insightful for my life.January 13, 2019ConnieQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1When a book makes you laugh out loud, and gets under your skin, you know it's a good one. Courtney Ellis' style of writing is so delightful that it's easy and enjoyable to read. But dig down further and she's got insight to life that burrows into your heart and makes you want to do something about it. I literally found myself going to a closet and un-cluttering after just two chapters! But it's her chapters on freeing up space for your soul to breathe that were most encouraging. Highly recommend this book. I'm actually ready to read it again, it's that good.
BMB5 Stars Out Of 5Funny. Relevant. Life changing. Fast read.January 11, 2019BMBYou know how it feels to go on vacation with only a suitcase full of belongings and the thought of beautiful days of simplicity and relaxation ahead because you've left all of your other possessions behind? Traveling light is a glorious thing. Wouldn't it be nice to live that way? Time to focus on priorities. Time to listen. Time to hear. Time to discover. This book by Courtney Ellis is the answer.
In a humorous and gentle storytelling narrative, Uncluttered reveals how to change your life and your family's by facing the overabundance in life that is exhausting us and robbing our souls of freedom.
The author's style is refreshing and easy to read. I didn't put it down until it was finished. Now all that's left is my part to apply these life changing principles!

Linda M5 Stars Out Of 5Not just a book! it's a visit at the kitchen table!January 10, 2019Linda MQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5When I read "The Hard Work of Trust" on pages 130-135 of Uncluttered, I felt an instant kinship to author Courtney Ellis. My pages are wrought with underlines, asterisks and jubilant exclamations of "Yes!" Uncluttered is not a collection of theories and proposals. This book is a "Let's-grab-coffee-at-my-kitchen-table-and-let-me-share-all-the- great-things-God-is-teaching-me!" gift! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading every page by this practical, hilarious author whose joy and energy jump off the page! Buy it for yourself, but also share it with friends. They will thank you for it!
