Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Wendy Baisley Roache and I recently retired from a successful career as Vice President of Business Operations in the healthcare industry. I enjoy teaching communication techniques in the work place, as well as for State and local public service groups, including volunteer and chaplaincy programs. I received training through Saddleback Church's lay counseling program and have facilitated various recovery groups. I currently serve in leadership for my local chapter of Community Bible Study, an international ministry. Opportunities such as these are a delight because they allow me to draw from my own story of starting over to speak words of hope, comfort, and encouragement to those who are suffering.
What was your motivation behind this project? To bring HOPE to those who are hurting and ignite FAITH in every heart. And, to fulfill a promise I made with my child, that we would not let our pain be in vain, but use it for good to help others.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? An overwhelming encouragement and deep desire to know God more intimately; to grow in faith and want to put their trust in God over every circumstance in their life.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This is a project I felt God tugging at my heart to complete for quite some time. Doing so has been a blessing beyond belief. Seeing the impact it's had on readers confirms this... Since publication, I've had a number of people contact me, thanking me for having the courage to share such a journey, because it's built their faith and invited a deep desire to know God more intimately - This of course, blesses me.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I pray my largest influence will always be God our Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the comforting Holy Spirit. The greatest inspirational book I know is the Holy Bible and all 7,000 of it's encouraging promises! (I wish I had space to list all the wonderful Christian authors and artists I enjoy!)
