Tell us a little about yourself. God has blessed me with the twin gifts of writing and teaching. I have written for many Christian publications, and written religion news for secular papers. My devotional column, "View From the Pew," ran in my hometown newspaper for nine years. I have taught numerous small group studies, including a class for women whose husbands do not share their faith. This class formed the basis for my book, Unbelieving Husbands: the Neglected Harvest.
What was your motivation behind this project? My own need, and acquaintance with several women in the same situation who find that instruction for unequally-yoked wives is neglected by most churches.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? A re-evaluation of what seems like a limited life on both the home front and church life; God has not overlooked spiritually-divided marriage, and has exciting possibilities for the women in their "one man mission field."
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My heartbreaks -- the conflicts between the interests of a secular husband and the Lord's church -- began to pale against the real hope of success in using God's ways to minister His love to my beloved spouse.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Missionary speakers who talked of issues they study to present the gospel effectively to their specific mission fields. "Abide in Christ" by Andrew Murray has formed much of my understanding of Christ's requirement of His followers.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: We are the answer to our own need. It is my hope that women will not only learn from my book, but will teach its principles to other women through small group classes or one-on-one mentoring.
