Each week a name was drawn, and that person was given money to bless others. There were twelve people with twelve different ideas and spheres of influence. Throughout this project, it was amazing how resourceful the participants were with the money they were given.
Twelve Weeks of Giving was inspired by an evangelist’s sermon from Life Action Ministries during revival services. In his message he stated, “God passes by the self-sufficient,” and that “we must be willing to give today out of abundance to supply the needs of others, believing that tomorrow, if we have a need, God will use the abundance of others to meet our needs.”
Twelve Weeks of Giving was written to inspire other businesses and individuals to go out into their communities and help those who are less fortunate. Church groups, businesses, and individuals can use the examples shared to start their own giving projects.

Tell us a little about yourself. Christian since age 12. Registered Nurse and owner of Neighborhood Nurses Health Care Services, Inc. In Monroe, N.C. Married to Josef Pennigar for 34 years. Have 2 children and 3 grandchidren.
What was your motivation behind this project? We had a ten night revival at our church (Lakeview Baptist Church). An evangelist from Life Action Ministries was speaking on Giving. I felt God telling me to do the project (Twelve Weeks of Giving) with our office staff. We drew a name each week for 12 weeks. We gave the person each week whose name was drawn $100.00 to go out into the community and bless people.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that they will come up with their own "Giving" projects and go out into their communities and bless people. God expects this from us. We are to love our neighbors as ourselves and in doing so...we will want to help those whom are less fortunate than we are.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Our 12 employees blessed each other every week as we saw the wonderful things that each person did for others. Our employees are continuing to give. The book was published Nov., 2011 and the "Giving" continues with our employees.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Jesus Christ is my ultimate influence. The Bible inspires me. Christ doesn't ask us to do anything that He hasn't already done for others. We are all His children and He wants us to take care of each other.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My 2nd Book....is being edited and will be released soon. It is about Dying. I am hoping the book will help people to not be afraid of death. Believers should not be afraid.
