Our study group is thoroughly enjoying this exploration into the men Jesus chose for founding His Church. Emphasizing their undistinguished characteristics before meeting Jesus, the book brings the apostles off the pedestals on which many Christians often place them, and gives readers another demonstration of the Lord's ability to transform all of us and help us walk more closely to His path. Excellent read with a great work book.

Dr.John MacArthur lays out the life and times of the Apostles in great detail and comforts readers by focusing on the Apostles imperfections. It's easy to start doubting your faith when you're unable to obey the Word as much as you love it. The Apostles weren't great men, they were sinful average men whom God used greatly. Jesus actually taught them in the flesh and they still messed up constantly. I find great comfort in knowing that as imperfect as they were and we all are, that His Grace is sufficient for us all. Praise God for Dr.John MacArthur's books and ministry. As with all of Dr.John MacArthur's books, this is a must read.
