Steelfaith5 Stars Out Of 5ComfortingJuly 7, 2017SteelfaithQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Dr.John MacArthur lays out the life and times of the Apostles in great detail and comforts readers by focusing on the Apostles imperfections. It's easy to start doubting your faith when you're unable to obey the Word as much as you love it. The Apostles weren't great men, they were sinful average men whom God used greatly. Jesus actually taught them in the flesh and they still messed up constantly. I find great comfort in knowing that as imperfect as they were and we all are, that His Grace is sufficient for us all. Praise God for Dr.John MacArthur's books and ministry. As with all of Dr.John MacArthur's books, this is a must read.
jeanne1 Stars Out Of 5Twelve Ordinary MenJune 27, 2017jeanneQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I had high expectations for this book after reading McArthur's The Battle for the Beginning. I have a background in science and was appalled at the license he took in this book. He makes many brash statements about the apostles that are really not supported by scripture or tradition. Except for a few obscure observations that I had already gleaned from reading the Bible, there was not much useful or enlightening in this book.
