This exciting series brings readers facetoface with the truth of God's precepts, promises, and purposes—in just minutes a day! Ideal for individual study, oneonone discipleship, group discussions, and quarterly classes.
Incredible suffering—sudden and unexpected. Wellmeaning but notsohelpful friends. Serious questions about righteousness, faith, and God. These words describe twentyfirstcentury life, but they also describe the life of Job. With this inductive Bible study, readers will follow Job through his amazing journey from prosperity to pain—and back again. Kay Arthur's proven approach to understanding God's Word will help Bible students observe, interpret, and apply the message of Job to their own lives.

The study guides by Kay Arthur are great in depth bible studies. All the different cross references were very good in helping to understand the specific book study as well as helped us to understand the connections to other books of the bible. I recommend looking up all of these. The graphs, charts, and time lines are also very good and very helpful in the study. After using 3 different study guides by Kay Arthur, we went back to a less involved study guide. Upon doing this we all felt that there was not enough information, and that we were longing for the more in depth study provided through using Kay's study guide.
Negatives: Having been a teacher, I started out the first study book thinking we would do all we were directed to do that the authors stated. After getting started with the very first study guide, we all felt that it was too confusing to use all the colored pencils, as well as all the markings the authors wanted us to do in our bibles. We felt that we were spending too much time thinking about all this and missing the message the scripture was sending to us. We decided to not follow that part of the suggestions. There is not enough space in the book to put the answers, though I did do this in some cases. I wish that there was space left to put down answers following questions, but realize there are so many questions that it is almost impossible to do so as that would make the actual size of the study book too big. We each did use a separate journal to write down our answers to the scripture questions and did look up all the scripture reference. The 4th study guide I used, I tried putting down my answers in the study guide, but now am finding that I need to go back to a journal to do so. I just like having my answers right in the study book for any future reference I might need. At times it feel this is like a college course, and might be discouraging for somebody just getting started learning about God's word. In this case a leader may opt to only do specific questions or cross references, but I would recommend the leader do all of these.
Cindy Sapp5 Stars Out Of 5February 12, 2010Cindy SappWe purchased this book to use for a women's Bible study. What we love about it is that it focuses on the Word. All study questions are answered directly from the Bible, so you aren't reading anyone's opinion but God's. You need to be ready to mark key words in your Bible (or you could print out a copy of the passage to mark). If you are interested in a guide to read God's Word, this will probably work well for you.
Rebecca2 Stars Out Of 5September 7, 2009RebeccaIf you like marking up your Bible then this Bible study is for you. I used the Bible study for three days and I cringed every time I marked my Bible. I felt so uncomfortable with marking up my Bible I had to purchase a new Bible.
Pamela Van Camp2 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2009Pamela Van CampIf this was just a simple study guide, that would be good, but unfortunately it requires you to buy a bunch of colored pencils and keep a notebook and mark up a Bible every day.If you need that kind of indepth study, that is great but it is not going to work for our once a week group that's on a budget.
Stacy Steiner5 Stars Out Of 5August 15, 2007Stacy SteinerThis is a great study for small groups, it really encourages meditating on scripture during the week in preparation for the group discussion. The only negative is that there isn't a video of any kind, some groups really enjoy having the video for group discussion. I would highly recommend this study!
