"Trust" by Henry Cloud is a very timely read on a very important topic to today's world. Indeed, with trust in authority and relationships slipping, the book is very timely. Around 300 pages, many aspects of trust are covered, including:

    - Benefits of trust between people.

    - 5 crucial issues in trusting someone.

    - Trust develops when a person knows you care about and understand them.

    - Character traits that inhibit trust.

    - 6 steps in repairing broken trust.

    - Questions to ask to determine if reconciliation is possible or if it's best to move on.

    - 5 essentials of trust.

    - 11 indicators of truly engaging with someone.

After reading the book, here's what I like:

    - Very easy to read and understand.

    - Full of good practical and spiritual insights.

    - Covers a very important topic in today's world.

    - Good footnotes for further study.

    - Smooth transition from chapter to chapter (not a choppy read that bounces back and forth).

I have read other titles and like this book, have enjoyed reading. Highly recommended. I was given a review copy by Worthy in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.

What an enlightening book. I had no idea trust was so important and necessary. Reading Cloud's book helped me understand why some people seem to rub me the wrong way, so to speak. But I also learned that trust is certainly more than just a feeling. I appreciate Cloud teaching us how to recognize the characteristics leading to trust and how we can become a trustworthy person. Understanding is a big part of it and listening is the foundation to that understanding. He explores the additional aspects of motive, ability, character, and track record. He gives loads of examples from his own experiences, including what can be accomplished when trust is established.

This is a good book for us to become better at deciding who is trustworthy and whether we should put ourselves at risk or not. It is also good for knowing how to handle a situation when trust has been broken, including how to repair the relationship. This book is full of wisdom and practical teaching.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
