A sick, twisted love triangle.
When Timothy suddenly dumps Shawna--to start seeing Jordan--rumors start flying. Shawna gets her revenge, first by smearing her former friend's reputation. Then she steals back Timothy by tempting him with an offer he can't refuse. Jordan feels absolutely green with envy--so much so that she considers doing everything in her power to get him back. Everything. Luckily, her old friend Kara Hendricks has been down that road too and knows Someone who just might be able to help Jordan as well.

"Having said that, I confess I was troubled by what I felt was explicit material. Im not naïve enough to think that sex and drinking doesnt happen at high school parties, but would I want my three high school aged teens to read a novel in which the protagonist describes some of the details of those events?
"I also felt the resolution was a bit simplistic: come to Jesus and your circumstances will instantly begin to improve. Even the villains in the story get their comeuppance in the end. The parents, though not major characters, are remarkably benign in the wake of some pretty catastrophic events.
"In a recent interview, Melody Carlson did say that the books in the True Colors series were for teens that are already facing the problems discussed, or for those who know someone is and want to help. I thought about the teenagers in my life, and decided that Deep Green was probably not for them." -- Pam Glass, Christian Book Previews
Chrissy2 Stars Out Of 5September 26, 2007Chrissyi actually didn't finish this book. i know lots of others loved this book- but i felt no connection whatsoever w/ Jordan. i wasn't even interested in how the story turned out. I've read other books by Carlson and loved them tho! i dunno why this one really didn't interest me. God b w/ ya'll.
Jenna Bragg5 Stars Out Of 5January 3, 2007Jenna BraggThis book is definitely one of my favorite books. This is the first one I have read of the series and didn't know that there was more, and when I heard that this was a series I was very happy to know that I could read more. It's about a girl named Jordan, she has a perfect life at first, the most amazing boyfriend, and then once again it's horrible. She actually ends up in a car accident but doesn't get hurt too badly. While she was in the car she screamed out to God, not knowing him, but asking for help. After the accident her friend Kara and Kara's boyfriend helped Jordan eccept God into her heart. It is a very good Christain book that I enjoyed reading every chapter, page, sentence, and word of the book!
