Diana Waring does a wonderful job emphasizing that history centers on the Jews and the Church of Jesus Christ, rather than just presenting interesting facts. It's not a story, but rather feels like a seminar. Diana's reactions and reflections really come across so that you will feel like you know her when the audio is over. I personally enjoy that about it and have been able to discuss any difficult parts with the kids, if they didn't understand it.
I think this format of listening to audios works particularly well while driving, especially for longer trips over half an hour. The whole family can enjoy it together, rather than assigning it to a child to listen by themselves. This is the only way we've used it, and we have grown to love history because of it.
I've not had much success with the curriculum that comes with the audios, other than the book lists, but the audios are definitely her strength and can easily stand alone.

I bought these products because they were supposed to be good for the reluctant student that didn't like history. My daughter started crying every time she thought she was going to have to listen to any of these CD's. As far as the course itself goes, if you are looking for a text book per say, don't bother. If unit studies are more your style, then by all means it is a great starting place. Most of the actual information are on the CD's, not in the text. I will say the information on the CD's is good, but she speaks way above the smaller child's comprehension (my daughter is in the 4th grade). If you are a history lover, you will love it, but if you are not a lover of history, proceed with caution.
