JamesAlbany,NYAge: 45-54Gender: male3 Stars Out Of 5has pros and consJune 11, 2016JamesAlbany,NYAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3i bought the film (for twelve dollars) because of the many positive reviews. i do not feel it was worth the price. five dollars would have been fair. but it seems to have struck an emotional chord with many and i am glad they enjoyed it for the reasons they stated. on the positive side it was very well produced, directed and the acting was top notch (Ericka Gluck in the lead and James Hong in support stole the show but all the acting was professional). there was some powerful drama and light comedy. the film made some important comments about not judging people who are struggling as we really don't know where they've been, but it is a comment that has been made much in films and was overplayed. also a strong commentary on the need for racial unity and understanding, a message that is always needed, but again somewhat overplayed in this script. another subplot is the great divide between the grandparents and their children. the grandparents are seen as too ambitious while the children seem to have none at all. trinity's dad is self pitying and irresponsible, avoiding consistent work for a 'freer' lifestyle. in reality Trinity would not be as healthy as she is presented in the film. Trinity herself lies to and manipulates her dad easily. her school principle is seen as the 'heavy' because he implies that she may have to stay back a grade for missing a lot of school. she does carry an 'A' average (which is also unrealistic) and has no record of misbehavior in school. another film where a middle school child is seen teaching the 'grownups' moral lessons. it's true that sometimes an older person can be reminded of what's important by youth, but that is the exception, not the rule (as Hollywood unrealistically and relentlessly portrays it). as always, i wish all families the wisdom of the Lord in choices for their viewing. : )

The young lady had such a good spirit. And it also shows a single father raising a daughter. I watched this with my teenager and she liked the movie as well.

CraigKentuckyAge: 45-54Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5Trinity Goodheart has a good heartMay 29, 2015CraigKentuckyAge: 45-54Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5One of the best movies I've seen. I wasn't sure what to expect but figured it was worth the try for the cost. But it was wonderful for our entire family. It was funny but also moving, the characters were distinctive and lovable, and it was about bringing family back together, transcending racial divides, other divides, etc. The angel in the plot (and prayer) gave it a distinctly Christian motif (though one shouldn't take literally its understanding of angels, any more than in Touched by an Angel, it clearly comes from a theistic worldview). That our family is also biracial and Trinity is just a bit younger than our daughter also made this a special treat to us. The surprise ending was beautiful.
