While there are some nice things about this book - like the wonderful illustrations by Erwin Madrid - this book is downright inaccurate. There are no notes about where the author found the ideas about heaven presented in this book - and I can see why. There's a lot of extra-biblical content.

For example: The Bible does say angels look out for we humans, but there is never any mention of "guardian angels" or the idea that we all have a guardian angel who is specifically assigned to watch over us. And while this book describes heaven as having a "golden gate," the Bible says there are twelve gates and they are pearly (Rev. 21:21). I don't know of any passage in the Bible that says our relatives will greet us when we get to heaven - and it certainly doesn't say *all* humans go to heaven. I am uncomfortable asserting heaven will have amusement parks - or cotton candy. There's even a simple non-biblical error: There is no such dinosaur as a brontosaurus.

There are much better children's books about heaven available.

My kids and I enjoyed this book. It is filled with beautiful illustrations and really gets your imagination going as to who you will see one day in Heaven, and what you would like to be able to do when you get there. It certainly breaks the boring, stand around in white dresses singing in the clouds sort of image.

Is is Biblical? Well, he's used creative licence for sure. I'm sure roller coasters weren't ever specifically mentioned, but I do believe Heaven will be a wonderful place - and if that's the case, fun must be included. It stands to reason. The kids and I discussed the fact that what's in the book are his ideas of what Heaven is like, but that God is preparing a wonderful place for us. I didn't come across anything that I felt contradicted what the Bible says about Heaven. We loved it.

I received this book from Harvest House for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own. Thank you Harvest House.
