Dr. Jack Travis defends his clinic like hes commander of the Alamo. Hell fight the communitys efforts to shut its doors, even if he must use Riley Hales influential family name to make it happen.
As Riley strives to regain her skills, Jack finds that she shares his compassionand stirs his lonely heart. Riley senses that beneath Jacks rough exterior is a man she can believe in. But when clinic protests escalate and questions surface about his past, Jack goes into battle mode and Riley wonders if its dangerous to trust him with her heart.
Injured in a brutal attack and uncertain whether she still can perform as an ER nurse, Riley Hale hopes for reinstatement while serving as a chaplain, offering comfort and prayers to patients at Alamo Grace Hospital, the setting for a new series from Calvert (Mercy Hospital series). To hone her skills, Riley volunteers at a clinic run by daredevil doctor Jack Travis, who battles his mysterious pastand hostile neighbors seeking to shut down the clinic, which brings clientele to the community considered undesirable. A budding romance between Riley and Jack is nicely balanced by the couples interactions with family, patients, and co-workers, all toting their own baggage packed with fear, ulterior motives, and past mistakes. Calvert, herself a former ER nurse who was sidelined by an injury, infuses her story with detailed medical procedures and terminology along with honest questions about faith that anyone might ask in the face of difficulties. The characters are likable and receive rich and thorough development in this enjoyable hope opera page-turner. Agent: Natasha Kern. (May)2012 Reed Business Information

CaroljoFarmington, MOAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excitement in ERSeptember 20, 2017CaroljoFarmington, MOAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a wonderful, emotional story of medical drama! Chaplain Riley Hale is a great protagonist as she strives for a life of freedom from her parents wealthy but fearful lifestyle. Dr. Jack Travis cares for the down trodden but lives life on the edge. Secondary protagonist Bandy Biggs is retired rodeo star who lived life too fully until he was broken and was rescued by Jack and turned to God. Trauma Plan has plenty of action! There is never a dull moment in ER or at Jack's clinic. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys medical fiction. I won my copy of Trauma Plan in a giveaway by author Candace Calvert. This is my honest opinion.

Riley is a nurse who is working as trauma chaplain due to an injury that hinders full use of her arm. She begins doing volunteer work at a clinic and clashes with the doctor who runs the clinic, which the neighborhood it is in wants to close. Intriguing story of mystery, love and how faith gets us through life in general. Highly recommend this book.
MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic ReadingAugust 13, 2014MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I so enjoyed this book and cant wait to read the next in the Grace Medical Series by Candace Calvert. It's jam-packed with everything a reader could hope for - suspense, drama, romance and lives changed by a loving God. So many story lines expertly intertwined until they finally come together in the end - and suddenly it's all aver and you so wish there was more - and since this is only Book 1 in the series, there is more. It was great to read more of Riley Hale - a side character from the Mercy Hospital Series and watch her come to fully realize and trust God's plan for her life. I also loved meeting Jack Travis - a troubled hero, and watch him soften as God worked His plan out in his life.
All in all, a fantastic read which I recommend to all.
