Paula Elarionoff5 Stars Out Of 5July 9, 2009Paula ElarionoffI have just read this amazing, impacting book for the third time....it reinforces the meaning of grace that goes far beyond the common definition: God's unmerited favor. I have often pondered the verse, "Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord...." and what it really means to live this verse. Well, when I picked up Transforming Grace, I received my answer. To understand all the ramifications of God's magnificent Grace, is to be h-u-m-b-l-e-d. To appropriateGrace, is to remember that I am that worm who's become the dwelling place of the Almighty.
Elder Joey MillerTallassee, AlabamaAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5May 1, 2009Elder Joey MillerTallassee, AlabamaAge: 55-65Gender: maleAs Christians, we are constantly using the word 'grace' in our language without really understanding the depths of the riches of this great and wonderful kindness from the heart of God. Jerry Bridges defines grace in such a way as to set Christians at true liberty; the kind of freedom Christ was talking about when He said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". His understanding deals with the justification of God to the end result of our glorification, and the sanctifcation in between! We seem to have no problem with the beginning and the end, but we think we have a part in our sanctification that we must do something and Jerry Bridges explains God's amazing, transforming grace in such a way that the reader will be praisng God for this wonderful knowledge. A must read for new converts especially, and old alike. Very refreshing and powerfully converting!!
Eric Campbell5 Stars Out Of 5October 20, 2008Eric CampbellBeing a "Christian" is not easy. There is a code of ethics to live by. Our "model" is Jesus Christ. I feel I am not doing a good enough job. I feel I am letting God and my family down. Even knowing salvation is by Grace. So, I read the book "Transforming Grace" by Jerry Bridges. A light bulb turns on after being off for a long time. It's all about grace. I'm saved by Grace. I stand by Grace. I walk the christian walk by Grace. With this view of Grace and my standing with God, I am free and enabled to walk the christian walk. God is so good. Thanks for the wonderful reminder. There are many Bible verses referenced. I now have many verses I want to memorize.
