I have used Training For Service and was a prior student. I do prefer the testing in the original book much better than the multiple choice tests that are offered now. I believe we don't place a high enough standard/expectation on our students of the Word and this move to an easier test format validates that. I still have the old curriculum and will continue to use the test from it.

Good ideas for presenting the lessons. Helps to get students involved. The only negative is the binding.

I used the original over 20 years ago and believe that it was more challenging than this book in respect to the tests, however, this book offers a bit more historical information than the original did. Over all an excellent guide.

PS: Use to the old book but will use the new.

I have taught the revision done by Orrin Root and Eleanor Daniel for 15 years. The cover of the book and the font were very ordinary. I can understand why the packaging and formatting would be freshened up. But I am SAD, very sad that the content has been tampered with. It was the most successful, fruitful and exciting Bible curriculum I have ever had the privilege to teach. Every class grew greatly in number and I usually had to reorder more books for people who wanted extra copies to give to others. The students enjoyed learning the material and eagerly memorized and studied for the optional tests. Overwhelmingly, they communicated how much they had learned and grown through this study. I am planning to teach this class again in January 2016, Lord willing, and I'm very upset that I cannot use the previous revision. New and improved is not always improved at all. Still valuable, but an inferior revision.
