Modern PilgrimOhioAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Can't wait to get started!December 5, 2011Modern PilgrimOhioAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5I just purchased this curriculum for our homeschool and can't wait to get started. It is exactly what I've been looking for to introduce U.S. geography. The teacher guide is excellent..... has many different projects to choose from for each state. I also purchased the student notebook which contains the maps needed. If you don't purchase the student notebook, you must purcahse Uncl Josh's outline maps. I also purchased Eat Your Way Through the USA to go along with this course.
nathansmommyTabernacle, NJAge: 45-54Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Very disappointingFebruary 22, 2011nathansmommyTabernacle, NJAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 1I purchased this curriculum last summer and started using it in September. I was very pleased with the product until we reached the second section which covers the Mid-Atlantic region. In the first section which covers the New England region I liked how the daily questions pertained to that particular state. Since we have started the Mid-Atlantic section I have noticed that the questions no longer pertain to the states that are being covered that week. While studying N.Y. one of the questions was "What is the capital of West Virginia?" While covering N.J. a question was "What state has Annapolis for its capital city?" While studying Pennsylvania one of the questions was "What river flows through Washington, D.C.?" Not only is this not pertinent, Washington, D.C. is not even covered in the Atlas that was suggested for this curriculum. I, as well as my second grader, am getting very frustrated by this. I could understand if those states had already been covered and a little review was being thrown in but that is not the case. My excitement over this curriculum has turned to disappointment. I now have to spend time before each state rewriting the questions so they pertain to the state being studied.
Van Farowe4 Stars Out Of 5June 9, 2010Van FaroweThe entire Trail Guide series is my new favorite geography program. It is an easy to use & affordable program complete in this teacher/student guide. Some reproducibles are included to complete each project or there is a notebook available for purchase. The beauty of this program is that you can dive as deep as you want into geography...or just snorkel your way around the globe for a sampling. Drills for different levels of students are given making it easy to use with a family. A variety of projects from which to choose are given. At the end of each book, there is a literature unit on a specific book related to the geography learned---a nice finale.

LisaM53055 Stars Out Of 5April 17, 2008LisaM5305Neat book. We're learning a lot. This is the best, most affordable U.S. geography curriculum I have found. Recommended books to go along with this are: Scholastic State-by-State Atlas and The Captain's Dog. I will venture to say that for the creative homeschooler, this book can almost also double as a history curriculum as well. There is another good book that goes well with this study called "Eat Your Way Across the U.S.A." but unfortunately it's not sold here at CBD.
