This review was written for Too Close to Home, Women of Justice Series #1.
Instead of reviewing each individual book, I decided to review the series as a whole. Please leave a comment and tell me if you like this better.

This series is fairly old and the first one that Lynette Eason put out. I think I can safely say that she has come a long way. While this series might have been a good competitor seven years ago, it just doesnt stand a chance now. Christian fiction has definitely come a long way since then.

This series follows three ladies as they fight crime in their own way. Samantha is an expert in computer forensics, Jamie is a forensic anthropologist and Kit is a hostage negotiator. They all have unique personalities and jobs which makes the stories new and exciting. Although, they are all about serial killers. Personally, I love a good serial killer book, but I know they arent for everyone.

In my opinion, my favorite was Dont Look Back, the second book. It had the most unique storyline and my favorite characters. My least favorite was A Killer Among Us, the third one. It was quite generic and boring. Also, in case you were wondering, you need to read the first one in order to read the second one. I dont think you will be able to understand it very well if you skip or go out of order.

Now to the good part- they are worth reading. As I said before, I like serial killer books, so I enjoyed these. Yes, the writing isnt spectacular and the characters werent the best, but theyre worth trying. Basically, if you dont have any other books you want to read or you are craving an eerie suspense book, then go for it. I would consider them a one-time read.

I loved that this book was authentically Christian. It was realistic and believable. The characters were well developed and had me rooting for them. Suspense was used but was not so terrifying that I could not read the story. I am impressed by Too Close To Home, It is definitely worth the time spent reading it but I wish the author had not added that epilogue. Still, I will be looking for more books by this author.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. A good mystery about missing teenage girls who were lured by a predator under the guise of a modeling recruiter. Only two criticisms: The daughter says "I'm playing 'Indian'" (this antiquated term should no longer be used to refer to First Nations/Aboriginals/Native Americans. The characters also joke that their loved ones are looking down on them from Heaven knowing what's happening in their lives: I would argue that this concept is not biblically supported.

I like to read alot and this was one of the best I read in a long time. Kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I thought I knew but the author took the story in a different direction.
