Even in 2018, there are a lot of working moms who long to stay home with their kids but think doing so is impossible.

For many of those moms, though, it actually is possible with some degree of lifestyle changes.

Lets face it, to be able to stay home with your child(ren), you may have to make deep changes in your lifestyle unless your spouse has a hefty income that doesnt require you to contribute employment income. But it really can be possible to stay home with the kids, meet your familys needs, and have an enjoyable lifestyle, albeit a more frugal one.

Thats the initial message in Erin Odoms book, You Can Stay Home With Your Kids! (published by Zondervan). When I first considered receiving this book to review, I thought it would only be a worthwhile read if the ideas it contained were actually practical and applicable. Its easy to see books claiming to be full of ideas, but many of them are applicable to only some people, and often arent practical.

    Thats not this book.

You Can Stay Home With Your Kids! fully delivers on its subtitle: 100 Tips, Tricks, and Ways to Make it Work on a Budget. As I read my way through all 100 tips, tricks, and ways, I was pleased to find they were all genuinely practical ideas, and applicable to a large, general audience.

Odom divides her ideas and suggestions into different topics from how to curb spending, to eating well on a budget, making your own household products, and entertaining your family without spending a fortune, to shopping second-hand, how to provide for healthcare needs, and ideas for creating more income that can be generated from home.

Many of these practical and applicable ideas can be found on lists and blog posts, but putting them all together in a small, square hardback book makes them easily accessible. Each idea is shared very concisely, so instead of reading long chapters for a suggestion, Odom limits most suggestions to a few paragraphs at most.

So if you really want to be able to stay home with your kids, this little book may have the practical and applicable ideas you need to make that happen. It would be worth getting the book to see.

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Though I am generally a very thrifty person and pride myself on being able to do well with a budget, but after our income was cut in half a little over a year ago, I have been on the lookout for even more ways to cut back and help keep our family afloat. I had hoped that this book would provide me with just the inspiration I'd been needing.

Now I must admit, many of these were tricks that I'd already been putting into use. I've been married for 11+ years now and have been a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom for all of those years, so I'd picked up a lot along the way. Still, there were many that I hadn't yet thought of. It featured ways to cut down on spending, ways to eat well on a budget, ways to save on necessary expenses, ways to save on the fun stuff so you can still have fun experiences, even ways to create more income on the side. Want to save by creating your own household products? There's even a section for that!

If you're new to budget living, this book is going to be a MUST. There truly are so many tips to consider incorporating into you life that are easy to do! Even for those experienced thrifty living people can learn something new too!

If you're wanting to start or continue staying home with your kids, or even if you just want to stretch your two income family budget to save towards buying a house, college funds, whatever... this book is a great read.

I did a lot of research on ways to frugally live on one income. and I implemented many of these tips and tricks to make it a possibility for me and my family. The awesome thing about this book is that these tips and tricks - and many more! - are all compiled in this beautiful, concise, and easy to read book! This was a much-needed refresher for me to remember my why and to focus on living with less so I can stay home with my kids. But this book is not just for stay at home moms. This book has something for everyone, so no matter what season of life you are in, there are great tips to help you live frugally, save money and reach your financial goals!

Perfect book for ANY mom looking for money saving tips! It's important to know that this is not a novel; it's a book full of tips AND action steps for each tip, which I LOVE! Erin's book covers so many topics, and each tip within those topics has practical action steps, which means you aren't left wondering how to go about implementing her ideas, and they're great for those of us who are task oriented;) I am a pretty thrifty mom, but I found many ideas that I hadn't even considered. In addition, she includes websites and resources for FREE!

The book is just beautiful, perfect for gift-giving, with a pretty little ribbon bookmark. It's a smaller size and looks nice left out on your table.

I also highly recommend that you read Erin's novel, More Than Just Making It, which is the story behind these tips; they're the perfect pair!

Disclaimer: I was on the launch team and received a temporary ebook for review; however, this review is my opinion.
