Tell us a little about yourself. I am a mother of 6 boys and a grandmother of 8. I have worked in youth ministries for many years and currently work with Women's ministries helping mom's in their own Spiritual journey and imparting principles of Faith to their own children.
What was your motivation behind this project? This last decade has had a marked increase in the violence and persecution of children. Shootings and stabbings in schools. Terrorists kidnapping dozens of children at a time.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? With that in mind I wrote this book as a tool for parents to have a format to speak to their children about how to grow in their Faith. It is a child's story with a teenager's illustrations and a "Parent's Page" with topics and scriptures to jumpstart the conversation about how to face disappointment, difficulty and trials. It answers difficult questions about "when God seems silent" and "dying to self to be alive to Christ".
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I have been amazed at how God has opened doors to take this project much farther than I ever dreamed possible. It has made me more prayerful and alert to the eroding freedoms we have concerning Christian values and securities.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The reports of many missionaries and mission agencies has greatly inspired me. But the Word of God is our true inspiration and resource on how to live in a fallen world.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: If something were to happen to you or your children, would you be able to "stand by faith" or would you cave into the pressures brought to bear? Now is the time to learn biblical teachings that will sustain us in any situation.
