Jalenagraham5 Stars Out Of 5Bible Time for Toddlers Just Got SnugglierApril 2, 2015JalenagrahamQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is the most adorable book! First of all, it is packaged so sweetly with this soft, fuzzy bear just seemingly calling out to be hugged. The way it is packaged would make a wonderful baby shower or first birthday, or baptism gift. Secondly, once you open it up, it gets even cuter. It contains 11 Bible accounts on the inside board book style thick, chunky pages. The left side of the page of each new account features a colorful picture that is related to the Bible passages that are covered, for instance, the account of Noah has part of an ark filled with animals. On the right side of each new Bible story account there is a picture of Tiny Bear and how the story relates to him. For instance, the story of Jesus' birth is featured with Tiny Bear and his family decorating a Christmas tree. Every account is a rhyming poem that is fun and easy to read aloud to little listening ears. The poem covers the basics of each new Bible passage, while the final line always relates it back to talking to Tiny Bear and how it would relate to the child's life.
Tiny Bear's Bible comes in blue and pink, so fit for a girl or boy in that personalized kind of touch. The stories covered include:
David and Goliath
Daniel and the Lions' Den
Jesus Stops a Storm
The Lord's Prayer
God's promise to be with us always
Fitzysmom5 Stars Out Of 5Review from Rambles of a SAHMFebruary 19, 2015FitzysmomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Do you have a go to gift for baby showers? I do! It consists of a basket of needed items like diapers, wipes and lotion and then it always includes a book or two. Tiny Bear's Bible is a great one to include.
The book comes in a boy or girl bear cover so you can customize it for the new little arrival. This little book is one that I wish you could somehow magically reach through the computer screen and feel. The fur is so soft. I can't seem to quit rubbing it. The inside pages are of the board book format so little hands can easily grasp and turn pages without harm.
The eleven stories inside are told in a rhyming style that is classic Sally Lloyd-Jones. When you include the beautiful illustrations from Igor Oleynikov you have a book that is sure to delight not only the child but the adult reading it. This book is destined to be a well-loved item that will introduce your baby to the One that loves him or her the most.
I was provided a book to facilitate my review.
CherylProspect,KYAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Tiny Bear's BibleJanuary 30, 2015CherylProspect,KYAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5From the Creation to Jesus' resurrection and promise to be with us always, these stories are a wonderful way to introduce your little one to God's love. Each brief rhyming story is placed in this fuzzy covered board book format and contains the stories such as Noah and Moses which are guaranteed to be favorites.
I love the covers of these Zonderkidz books. I must admit that I chose this particular book to order and review because I had reviewed two similar and wanted to see how they differed from Little Chick's Bible and Little Bunny's Bible. All three have the plush covers with sturdy board book format but Tiny Bear is written by Sally Lloyd-Jones and does contain different stories than the others but is similar in that it has stories from Creation to Jesus' ascension. The illustration in Tiny Bear are a bit more muted than those of the other two as well but they are lovely. However, I think any of the three will make a nice addition to a child's library. Even a child age 1-3 isn't too young to learn about God as promise keeper, protector, and creator of all things. Perfect for Valentine's Day, Easter baskets, or an addition to any baby gift.
I did receive this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was in no way obligated to leave a positive review.
