There is no better way to end the day than with a snuggle and a bedtime story. Its at bedtime that my children will start to tell me all about their day, their hopes and their dreams and I share with them a new bedtime story. Time for Bed, Sleepyhead: The Falling Asleep Book will help your little one relax and drift off into a peaceful sleep.

Time for Bed, Sleepyhead: The Falling Asleep Book written by child psychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Amen, M.D., was created to help your child fall asleep. It is the story of a little bear who doesnt want to go to sleep. After tucking Little Bear into bed, Mama Bear begins to tell him a wonderful story about a day at the beach with his friend. At the end of the day, the friends return home and get ready for bed where they fall asleep.

The artist, Gail Yerrill, has created beautiful images that capture the imagination of any child. The characters are cuddly, reminding the children of several toys that they already own. The colours are soft and calming. I love how the illustrator shows how each character is getting more tired as the day progresses, subtly suggesting to your little one that its time to start closing those weary eyes.

When I first received the book, I assumed that it was simply just another bedtime story. There is a comment from the author at the beginning of the story that offers suggestions on how to use this book. The book contains specific suggestions that will help your child fall asleep. I was still a little confused as to how this book worked. I read it with my daughter, who still struggles with falling asleep. I assumed that she would be asleep before I finished the story, I was wrong. She was still awake, but noticeably more relaxed.

The story is simple, no great mystery to solve or danger to escape. Its simply about a lazy day at the beach with friends, something most children can relate to. The author describes each event in such a way that your little one can visualize the story in his minds eye. Time for Bed, Sleepyhead: The Falling Asleep Book is a calming book to share with your little one at bedtime.

*Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of Time for Bed, Sleepyhead: The Falling Asleep Book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

This cozy children's book is beautifully written for ages 4- 8 year olds. This book uses visual techniques to help youngsters drift off to sleep. The mood is soft and lulling as well as the pictures are pastel and whimsical. This makes for a peaceful mood and helping young ones calm down and brings about a time of shutting down the brain from thinking. However, there isn't any mention of God or the Bible in this book. There is no spiritual message in this book. It uses more hypnotic mood to help children drift to sleep. It talks about sleep helping clean the brain. It is just written from the author's experience with her own children and their bedtime routine.

A copy of this book was provided free in exchange for my honest review.

Time for Bed, Sleepyhead is a childrens bedtime storybook intended for children in 4-8 age range. The design of this book is to enable the child to peacefully fall asleep with cozy and happy images which follow them into their dreams. In addition, it also helps them to exercise their imagination by seeing the characters, environment, and activities which the parent/reader is describing to them as they drift off to sleep. The illustrations found on each page help to set the scene of the characters and their environment. Each character appears to have soft and fluffy fur, just right for cuddling.

I really loved the illustrations throughout Time for Bed, Sleepyhead. They made me think of the characters as live fluffy stuffed animals that are so soft and cozy; I could actually feel the softness of the characters through the illustrations. The content is simple and fun to read. I read Time for Bed, Sleepyhead to my 2-year old son. I believe the story did cause him to be sleepy and want to go to bed. However, I read it an hour before his regular scheduled bedtime. Next time I will read it closer to the time he actually goes to bed. I recommend Time for Bed, Sleepyhead to all parents and children of all ages.

Not only does Time For Bed, Sleepyhead The Falling Asleep Book by Daniel G. Amen M.D. Have the most gorgeously illustrated pages, thanks to Gail Yerrill, but the slow, melodic story will have both your child and you yawning by the end of the book.

This is not the first time that I have heard of books similar to this one, it is a book that is psychologically proven to create a dreamy and sleep air around your child, with intricate phrases, and provoked yawns, you will both be heavy lidded as you read about the little polar bear cub and his best friends on their fun trip.

As you read about the adventures, the mommy in the story tells her little cub to listen to other noises, and every time one should be heard, it should make that little cub feel more and more relaxed, and it does work. Every time there is a tap or a crinkle, it makes you feel like you just want to close your eyes. To me, this was almost like an ASMR book. If you know me, you know that I have loved watching ASMR videos on youtube for quite some time, and to have a book that almost creates the same effects, especially for my child, was an incredible dream come true.

Even though this book made my son sleepy, he loved to look at the pictures and find all the different animals, and he also loved how the story progressed, and then all the little animals went to sleep like me he said. We had so much fun reading this, it has definitely become part of our nightly routine. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, and a sleepy yawn. I received this book from Book Look Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.

I recently received the book Time for Bed, Sleepyhead from BookLook Bloggers and my daughter instantly wanted to read it. This story is a children's book to help little ones get ready to sleep. This book begins with a little one named Little Bear not wanting to go to sleep and the momma telling her young one a story. She includes all of his friends and tells a story of them heading to the beach for a fun day. As she tells the story to Little Bear she explains why sleep is important.

I really liked the message of this book. It explains why sleep is important, but in a way little ones can understand. I did however did not like that every couple of pages the mom telling the story would list off all the animals names. Normally I wouldn't mind it but there was 7 of Little Bears friends and it became very repetitive. Another thing I really liked about this book was the illustrations. The illustrator Gail Yerrill did a wonderful job at painting the picture for my daughter to look at. She absolutely loved this book and has been reading daily since we got it. I definitely recommend this book for parents to read with their children.
