Publisher's Description

What would life be like if Christ’s model prayer were fulfilled? Here is an imaginative but realistic Biblical guide to that life. Rather than some foolish utopian dream, Thy Will Be Done presents a powerful depiction of a sinful world redeemed and transformed by Christ as suggested by the prophets. The author’s lifetime study of the Bible’s instructions for loving God and loving man fuels this thoughtful, extended, everyman essay. A few simple Biblical principles guide a systematic and practical approach to a fulfilled Gospel life and the earthly tools needed for it.

The author weaves a tapestry of possibility—Christ’s people growing as salt and light, putting flesh on the Bible’s vision of blessing in every aspect of human life and endeavor. The message brings joy to all peoples and glory to the One who came to save the world. Let us hasten the day!

Author Bio

Christ saved Ron Kirk while still in college. Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974, he became a professional landscape architect. Since 1980, Ron has studied and taught the Biblically and historically identified applied-faith theology and philosophy outlined in his book, Thy Will Be Done. Its principles have now long proven themselves in the curriculum and methods of pioneering day and home schools founded and administered by him, the first being the Master’s School. Married since 1971, Ron and Christina have five children, five sons- and daughters-in-law, and twelve beautiful grandchildren, all walking with Christ. American Heritage Christian Church ordained Ron as a minister in 1984.

Editorial Reviews

Ron W. Kirk’s book, Thy Will Be Done: When All Nations Call God Blessed, was published in 2013 by Nordskog Publishing. Ron is the former Education Editor of Faith for All of Life and represents a confluence of several distinct “theological rivers” that emerged when the Volker Fund was disbanded in the 1960s. The two most significant Volker alumni were R. J. Rushdoony and Verna Hall. As Miss Hall would later quip, Dr. Rushdoony embodied Puritan interests while she and Rosalie Slater embodied Pilgrim interests. These fellow warriors remained cordial cobelligerents throughout their lives and always exhibited mutual respect for the other’s work.

In this volume, we see the power in synthesizing the best of each thinker’s approach to reality. In just over 200 pages, this tour de force manages to set forth one of the most innovative, insightful, and far-reaching applications of the Christian faith that I have had the pleasure to encounter. The author brings forth treasures old and new on every page, steeped in the experience garnered after decades of diligent application.
Martin G. Selbrede, Chalcedon
Kirk’s program of “social revolution” is what it has always been for believers in Christ: by preaching the Word (planting the “seed”), showing the world by example what it means to live for Jesus, and reaping the benefits—both spiritual and material—for all to see, we lead others to Christ (the “harvest,” with God giving the increase).

Christians must be both the salt that preserves the world and the light that shows the way. Any other approach that attempts to win the world for Christ is doomed to failure.

A glance at the contents page should persuade the reader of how comprehensive and thoroughgoing Kirk’s plan is. The nice thing is how closely it conforms to God’s plan in the Bible.
Michael Soderberg, The American Culture
