Great Voice - Decent Album
September 10, 2014
I LOVE Thi'sl!!!! Anybody who catches him on any album knows he has a great voice and style. He often does back up or swoops a spot on a 'big name' song on Christian albums. Nine times out of ten his parts are the best. There is just something about him and how he lays it out.
Needless to say, this is my first purchase in terms of an actual album from him. I was semi-impressed. Some of the songs won't get a second play but there are a couple I listen to often. Check out Dream Team and Do Something About It. You will NOT be disappointed. I think those songs truthfully capture the essence of his life and heart.
The rest of the album didn't tug at me like those two. Being that he's a quality artist I will keep trying though. You can't deny the fact that his voice is gruff and style is spot on. It is worth a listen even if there are some disappointments you'll have the rest of the disk to make up for it. There is one or two Christian Hip-Hop artists that really have nearly all the limelight right now. I think although his work isn't perfect, Thi'sl deserves some of that space. As far as up and coming... he is the one to watch.
