Mr. Jeremiah is a biblical scholar and has a way of explaining biblical truths and prophecy in an easy to understand manner. It is difficult to summarize this entire book, as the author speaks to many different topics of interest, such as: political upheavals, refugees, diseases, nuclear threats, failing economies, etc. One of the first topics he covers is to prepare us Christians for the coming persecution. Christians in many other countries today are enduring persecution, and we will soon if not already be enduring it here in America. But he also gives us hope, in his scripturally-based belief that the rapture of those who love and follow Jesus will occur pre-tribulation. As to the question that is the title of the book, no one knows the time of the Lord's return, but we are experiencing "birth pangs" and have seen some prophecies fulfilled.
Zoey5 Stars Out Of 5Is This The End? Great Question!February 26, 2018ZoeyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Im still reading this book, but so far its right on.
Dr. Jeremiah refers to scripture as to what is happening today. Our country needs another strong revival and people need to desparately turn their lives back to GOD!!
Brenda5 Stars Out Of 5Very informative.January 29, 2018BrendaQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0From my own study of scripture and history I knew a good deal of what Dr David Jeremiah wrote in this book but much more I didnt know. I agree with him wholeheartedly. I especially enjoyed the chapters about the rapture It makes perfect sense that we as believers will not be included in Gods wrath during the tribulation - we have been redeemed from Gods wrath. It is so encouraging to be affirmed in what I see from scripture from this scholar.
Kendra5 Stars Out Of 5well researched, easy to understandDecember 4, 2017KendraQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Dr. Jeremiah looks to Biblical prophecy to answer the question many people are asking: "Is This the End?"
The book is split into two parts. In the first part, Is This the End for America?, Dr. Jeremiah tackles secularization and moral decline, immigration, intolerance and apathy. Things can seem pretty bleak, but as Dr. Jeremiah puts forth in the fifth chapter, the remedy for America is revival. He briefly reviews historical revivals and urges the reader to prayer for revival today.
In the second part, Is This the End for the World?, Dr. Jeremiah goes to Scripture to show how end-time prophecies regarding three key players--Israel, ISIS, and Russia--are being fulfilled. In the final two chapters, he gives his interpretation, with verses to back up his viewpoint (pretribulationism), of the Rapture and the Tribulation, and why the church should be encouraged, comforted by, and expecting Christ's imminent return. A plea is given to Be Ready, lest you be left behind!
Obviously, many have studied prophecy in great depth over the centuries and come to different viewpoints on this subject. End-times prophecy isn't a genre that I typically read, but I found this book easy to read, well-researched, and a mostly-compelling argument for the pretrib perspective. (That's the interpretation we all hope for, not? =) ) I do not agree with everything Dr. Jeremiah says, probably most significantly his very brief argument for the obligation of Christians to participate in "just war." I was most inspired by the chapter on revival, and the call to let revival begin in me. "Have you lost the fervor of your love for Him? Has sin dampened your spiritual zeal and hindered your testimony? Has the world seeped into your soul and into your habits? ...Whatever it takes, put away sin, put Christ first, and become kindling wood for Him."
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my review.
