Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in the small town of Lafayette, Alabama. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Merchandising, Design and Production Management. Over the past few years I have developed a strong desire to help spread the Good News about Jesus Christ.
What was your motivation behind this project? Because I had stinking thinking for many years, I had a stinking life. I knew of God, but I didn't know Him personally. I went to church because it was what most people did on Sunday mornings. I didn't go because I wanted to. I said I loved God at church; however, it didn't show in the way I was living outside the church. After renewing my mind with God's Word, I discovered there was a better way to live. It all begins in your mind; therefore, that's how I came up with the title of this book. If you want to live right, you have to think right!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want people to understand that our thoughts shape our lives. How we act not only affects us, but it affects other people around us. Sour, rude, obnoxious, angry Christians are not going to be successful in leading others to Christ. Sadly, I believe there are way too many Christians like that in the world. I was one for many years. I believe if I would have died, I would have went to heaven; however, I wouldn't have taken anyone with me.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The Bible says we need to confess our faults to one another (James 5:16). When we confess our downfalls and bad choices to other people, it makes it easier for those who are weak in faith and low in confidence to believe that there's hope for them.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Joyce Meyer, Max Lucado, Rick Warren.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: You are here for a purpose! God loves you very much. If you didn't have a purpose on this earth, you would not be here. You have to believe it for yourself. No one else can do it for you. I want to share a verse that I came across today that really "hit me". It comes from Act 20:24 NLT: "But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God."
