The King James Bible still has its distinctives to its credit. It is the Bible at the heart of every revival in the English-speaking world. Its text is in the public domain (outside the UK), so distribution of it does not defy copyright laws. And, as Dr. Carter proclaims, it accurately preserves the Scriptural texts as passed on by the church, known as the Textus Receptus. This key element is pivotal to the development of the English Bible, and, since newly discovered texts are suspect, the King James Bible remains the only version still in print without the newer texts' influences.
Through short chapters with beginning-of-chapter vocabulary lists end-of-chapter questions, and interstitial review sections, Carter carefully takes the reader through the history of God's Word, methodologies of translation, and reasons for considering the KJV to be the preserved Word of God. Packed with fascinating facts, solid research, and even a handful of vocabulary puzzles for fun, Dr. Carter makes a good case for the unique authenticity of the King James Bible.

Wesley Tomlinson5 Stars Out Of 5December 4, 2009Wesley TomlinsonThis book is an easy to read defense of the precious King James Bible. The book was wrote by a faithful man of God who has held true to the King James Bible. If you want to read a book that proves beyond a doubt that the King James Bible is the Word of God give "Things That Are Different Are Not The Same" a read.
Thomas5 Stars Out Of 5April 3, 2009ThomasWhy does the pastor of my church insist on using the KJV Bible? I thought "nobody talks like that anymore"! This little book along with some basic studies and verse comparisons opened my eyes to the truth. The KJV Bible is the closest translation of God's word from the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts that we have, ever had, or ever will have. Even the widely used and accepted NIV has some word changes or omissions that can deceive or "water down" the original word of God. That means you no longer HAVE the word of God! If you are going to read, and especially STUDY the Bible, I am now convinced that it must be the KJV. Any other version of God's word and you will probably not have God's full blessings upon you for understanding what you are reading. Aside from that, I also now believe that God "deserves" to have his word read in the beautiful, poetic style of the old King James language. This book of only 206 pages, is written in short, easy to read paragraphs. There are many facts, figures and church history notes to validate the use of the KJV. It's a quick and ready reference book to have or to read and pass on to others.
