This review was written for 50 Things You Need to Know About Heaven.
This is a book that attempts to answer questions about Heaven. Fifty topics are covered that range from whether or not there will be animals in Heaven, to what we will be doing in Heaven, to the question of near death experiences.

Each query is explored by the author giving his perspective supported by scriptural references. The author also gives interesting examples of the subject from his own life, or from the world. For instance, he addresses how angels are viewed in the popular Christmas movie, Its a Wonderful Life, and the Biblical viewpointand if there is a difference. At the end of each section, more Bible references are given if the reader wants to do further research on a topic.

This book is easy to read, and it is written in an uncomplicated style. The reader can pick out a subject of interest, and find it effortlessly, making it unnecessary to read the entire book to get an answer.

The author is a Bible professor at Moody Bible Institute, and received advanced degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary and Grace Theological Seminary.

The references provided for each question, make it easy to check out if the Bible really agrees with what Dr. Hart writes on a given subject. You may or may not concur with the authors take on a topic, but his thoughts will provide a jumping off place for further investigation. If you have some questions about Heaven, I would suggest you start with the Bible first. This 5-star book, would be a good additional reference.

The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through Bethany House Publishing for the purpose of review. All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required, or influenced, to give anything but an honest appraisal.

I was drawn to this book by the title. We are all curious about heaven. What it will be like, who will be there, what we will do there, how we get there, what it will look like, etc. The questions are endless. What we sometimes do not realize is that the Bible is filled with many answers to our questions. This book takes those passages and deciphers them into easy to understand explanations.

This book is very easy to read, and very thorough. The author references more than one translation of the Bible, and even gives additional references at the end of each chapter that you can study more in depth on your own if you so choose.

This is a book that you can read cover to cover, or just simply find the question you want answered in the table of contents and read the answer. Of course while this book does not answer all the questions you may have about the Bible it does have fifty which is quite a bit. It also goes to show that the answer to all of our questions are in the Bible waiting for us to find them and decipher them. In the meantime this book is a great starting point for any curious person to gain some answers.

There are a few personal assumptions in this book from the author but for the most part this book stays on track with Scripture. We are all going to make our own assumptions from time to time anyway, and it is always refreshing to hear another person's opinion here and there.

This book is wonderful for many curious individuals which is also a must for a great book. It can apply to Christians, those curious about Christianity, etc.

I loved that I was able to study topics I hadn't even given thought to. Some of the fifty questions I was already curious about while some I hadn't even thought about, and was relieved to see.

The author does not lecture or try to persuade you in anything in this book but rather sticks to what is gained from the Bible. I felt that this is a very well researched, very wonderfully written book good for anyone to read. I recommend it to everyone, and especially the fellow Christians out there such as myself always hungry for more information.

Most people are curious about Heaven and what eternity will be like, especially after someone they love has gone on. The author does a wonderful job of addressing 50 questions that are usually asked about Heaven. Some of them I hadnt even thought of.

I liked the way the table of contents had the questions listed so I could go directly to the ones that interested me most right away. It will also make it easier if you want to use the book as a reference. He not only covers what Heaven is, but misconceptions about it too. I was impressed and how well he discussed most of the subjects in just a few pages. Not only was there a lot of scriptural references to back up what he was sharing, but there were even more verses at the end each one for further study and reading. I enjoyed the interesting illustrations, some of them personal ones, that he used throughout the books.

There were only two things that I did not like about the book. One was the many Bible translations he used, 14 to be exact. For me it made answers disjointed and harder to read. I easily remedied that by using my own Bible and looking up each verse, and that definitely wasnt a bad thing at all! Secondly I felt a few of his answers were more his speculation than Bible truth. In those incidents, the Bible references did not match up with his explanation. All in all, this book was a pleasure to read and made a wonderful Bible Study. I think it would be great to use in teaching a Sunday school class.

I received this book free from Bethany Publishers, which requires an honest, though not necessarily positive, review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I received a copy of 50 Things You Need to Know about Heaven by Dr. John Hart, a very easy to read book full of questions and answers that also give you reference for further Bible study for the answers to the questions so many have about Heaven.

Some of the questions that you will find answered are.

    What will Heaven look like?

    Where is Heaven?

What will we do in Heaven?

Are there marriages and families in Heaven?

Will we eat and drink in Heaven?

What will we do in Heaven?

Do Christians go to Heaven immediately after they die?

Do people in Heaven know what is happening on earth?

How can I be sure I'm going to Heaven?

This is a book you can read from cover to cover, just look through and read the answers to your questions, or use it as a study guide along with your Bible, to learn more about the answers to Heaven.

I liked that the author doesn't merely answer your questions but also gives Bible scripture under each section (question and answer) for further reference that you can personally read for yourself.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about Heaven, or would make a great gift.

This review was written for 50 Things You Need to Know About Heaven.
I was impressed with the readability of "50 Things You Need to Know About Heaven" and its appeal to a broad audience: the curious non-Christian, the new Christian, and those who desire to expand their current understanding of what the Bible says about heaven. This book offers a succinct but thorough examination of this topic as Dr. John Hart offers simple, straightforward explanations of basic Christian doctrines like salvation, justification and imputed righteousness and then moves on to answer many common questions (and some not so common) that people ask about heaven. For instance, where do we go the moment we die? What is the "new heaven and new earth?" What does the Bible mean when it talks about people who have died as "sleeping." What will our bodies be like in heaven? Will heaven be boring? Do people in heaven know what's happening on earth?

Overall, Dr. Hart sticks to interpretation and explanation of Scripture; however, he does make a few speculative assumptions here and there, such as his claim that in heaven there will be new instruments, new musical sounds, and limitless things to discover and learn. I happen to agree with him- I'm only noting his departure from strict exegesis.

You may or may not agree with all Dr. Hart's scriptural interpretations in this book; if you don't, that's great- you'll find yourself challenged to study and re-examine your own views. On the other hand, you may find that you learn something new, or discover greater depth about what is admittedly a mysterious subject. I felt that I gained a lot from this book as I contemplated a number of topics I'd never given much thought to before and I'd recommend this book to others as a great starting place for a topical study about heaven.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for review from Bethany House Publishers. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
