In our information saturated society, we come to believe that certian popular idea's are in the bible when they are not. In this book the author takes ten popular ideas that have made there way into the mainstream theology and he dispproves that Jesus ever said them. Our enemy Satan is a master of lies and has thousands of years of studying the human race and he knows just how to twist God's word just enough to make us doubt God's goodness for us.

Two of my favorite chapters were:

#4-This wouldn't happen if you were a better Christian deals with the lie that if you were better, doing better, thinking better, being better than the bad thing that you are going through wouldn't be happening, when the truth of the matter is that God sometimes allows trails into our life's to help build our characters and also just because we live in a broken world and bad things are going to just happen because of this fact.

Chapter # 9 titled: You missed My will for your life. This chapter deals with the lie that because we have sinned, we have missed God's will for our lives. But the fact of the matter is that God's grace and mercy are new every day. He knew before we were ever born just how and how far we will fall. All the good and bad make us who we are and the fact is that because of these things we each are own unique and will have our own distinctive ministries.

The author also includes a chapter on divorce, but no matter what you believe on divorce this chapter is well worth reading. It is titled under the appendix section.

The book is 208 pages so it is not a long book, so a reader can get through this book in a reasonable amount of time.

No matter how long you have been a Christian, I would highly recommend this book. I would also recommend reading this book with your bible nearby.

I was reading this book and 2 co-workers were super curious of its content based on the tittle. So I got them each one. Great testimony and great information for non-believers.

I think this book reveals what a true christian should look like. A life that's not about me but, what Jesus can do thru me.

We are studying this in my women's small group and so far everyone loves it. We rarely have to even glance at the questions in the back, because the material itself generates enough discussion.
