Inkwell Reviews4 Stars Out Of 5Review from inkwellreviews.comJanuary 2, 2017Inkwell ReviewsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Thin Ice was yet another great read from Irene Hannon. It had mystery, suspense and romance; the whole package. Being an ice skater made Christy Reed's character so much more intriguing and unique. This book follows the same format as all her other books, which is good and bad. The format that she uses typically has the distressed lady, the man, who is in some form of law enforcement, and the heroic rescue at the end. The two then end up falling in love and living happily ever after. I do really like this storyline and it makes for a great book, but when youve read all her suspense books it gets kind of repetitive. This series is by far her best yet, and I totally recommend reading it. I absolutely love the relationships between Lance and his brothers. They bring so much humor to the book. Every time they were in it I couldnt help but smile. This book had me on the edge of my seat and looking around corners at night. With a bad guy that was on the absolute creep list, (if there even is one) this book will be glued to your hands until you finish. Then, youll wish you hadnt read it so fast because you miss reading it. Needless to say, if you are a suspense fan this book is a must read
footballgal5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic Second Book in Series!!June 10, 2016footballgalQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Author Irene Hannon brings us another intriguing and suspensful novel leaving the reader wondering what will happen next. "Thin Ice" is the second book in the "Men of Valor" series, "Buried Secrets" being the first. Though I personally enjoyed the first very much, this book was even better!! From its twisted plot to its strong characters and so on. Christy Reed is our heroine in this book, dealing with all of her loss was painful even for the reader but no matter what, she stayed trusting in her faith. The beauty of her character is though she was faithful and stayed strong in so many ways, she wasn't invincible. Lance McGregor is our wounded hero, he hasn't ever told anyone about what happened, until Christy. Because of her faith and her personality, Lance learns to let go of some of that pain. They balance out each other, which is something not obvious or that even happens in most books and that is one thing I really adored about these two. Both characters are very real and I loved that about them. I only have a couple things to say about the book that would have liked to see added but it in the end didn't effect my rating much. One being that the romance was a lot like the first book but Lance and Christy's romance was better than the first in my opinion even though the first was great and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good suspense/mystey! Second, the ending, I felt you didn't really know what happened to the killer. You knew but they never said what the verdict was or anything and I would have liked to know. My personal rating for this book is 4.5 stars, I highly recommend this book (and the first as well while I am at it) to anyone who loves a good suspense/mystery and eagerly await the next book in the series coming out this fall! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.

The plots are always original, the characters well-developed, the romance swoon-worthy, the spiritual element very real and encouraging, and the suspense of the edge-of-your-seat variety. I dont think Ive ever been disappointed in reading one of Irenes novels. As an aspiring writer myself, she is an author I very much look up to as she always delivers and her writing is superb!
Thin Ice is the second novel in the Men of Valor series, and is Lance McGregors story. Readers were introduced to Lances older brother, Mac McGregor, in Buried Secrets. There is a third brother, Finn McGregor, who is featured in the third novel, due out in the fall of this year, which I am eagerly anticipating. Ive already read the teaser for Finns story twice, and the cliff-hanger ending gave me the shivers.
But back to Thin Ice it was one of those rare books that I wanted to read all over again after I turned the last page. From the tense opening, to the explosive climax, it was a fabulous read. For all the mystery/suspense lovers out there I highly recommend this book!

Kav5 Stars Out Of 5Great romantic suspenseMay 3, 2016KavQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The kind of book you want to savor but it's so good you end up barreling through it only to find yourself disgruntled at the other end because it was over way too fast. A word of readerly advice: Don't be a greedy guts like me -- try to pace yourself so you can enjoy this literary journey longer.
Hannon beguiled me with her intriguing suspense. A real edge-of-your-seater and definitely creepy in places. I went into a tailspin when I discovered it has a figure skating connection. Sqqqueeeeaaalll. I love it when two of my favourite things collide like that.
Gripping from the very first page, the author pairs a cunning suspense with delicious romance. And I do mean delicious. There's no doubt that Lance is attracted to Christy from their very first meet but he's professional enough to hold those emotions in check. Christy is just as intrigued by the handsome FBI agent and it isn't long before their encounters deepen into friendship with the promise of something more once the case is solved. The crackle of electricity that snaps between them is so much fun to read. Superb dialogue deepen that connection and create romantic distraction from the sinister actions of a twisted individual. If I wasn't swoon-shivering I was fear-shivering. A delightfully deadly combination for a romantic suspense.

Thin Ice was the most exciting and chilling Irene Hannon book I've read yet and is definitely my new favorite. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a nice cozy mystery and others I absolutely love the action-packed danger of a book like this one. Reading Thin Ice was definitely one of the latter times.
The previous book in the series favored the romance a little more but Thin Ice leans more on the suspense angle with the romance providing just the right flavor.
From the icy cover to the last page Thin Ice kept me frozen in place desperate to find out what would happen next. Irene Hannon took on some harder and and darker issues in this book: PTSD, feelings of extreme guilt, mental illness, and some other things that would kinda spoil the story if I mention them.
Irene Hannon's latest is one thrilling read. Dark deeds, a desperate bid for survival, the value of family, romance at a rather inopportune time, and lots and lots of delightfully chilling suspense. If you love suspense or Irene Hannon novels I would definitely recommend Thin Ice.
