Max Lucado has a great sense of writing. His words flow on to the pages in a heartfelt and caring manner. He touches my soul in everything he writes. In this book he selects several characters in the Bible, tells their story, then brings it in with practical applications. Each chapter is brief (which I like), yet is powerful in the telling. I highly recommend this book.

Max has done it again! Another awesome book that was difficult to put down. I have been a Christian for a long time but still found the book entertaining and fun to read. Thank you Mr. Lucado for another amazing reading adventure!.

Max Lucado looks into 40 characters from the Bible. Some very well known and some not in the forefront of Bible history. His perspective on these people who walked with God is sometimes unique and always illustrative in an almost poetic way. He brings these characters to life in a way that we can relate to in a more intimate way than when we might encounter them in the Bible with a quick look over of a Bible reading and yet in a way that is true to the Biblical encounters.

A very enjoyable yet thought provoking book. I highly recommend it.

great reference book for all ages

it makes for an easy read, i read on chapter a day with my mom. We have conversations around it and share our thoughts.
