Product Description

Boers warmly recommends morning and evening prayer for those who have never tried the discipline. "Written prayers help when we find it hard to pray," he says, "or don't feel like praying. Publisher's Description

Today's hectic pace leaves little time to nourish the spirit, and at one time or another all of us feel spiritually disconnected and alone. But there is a treasure within the Christian faith, highly prized by those who have found it, that offers a solution to this modern-day dilemma: morning and evening prayer.

Practical and wise, drawing upon Scripture and long-time personal experience, Arthur Boers invites us to reclaim this prayer tradition and to find our relationship with God forever changed.

Endorsements

"Arthur Boers rescues prayer, probably the most important thing we do, from the trivializing tyranny of whim and feeling...This could well be the most important teaching on prayer you'll ever get." -Eugene H. Peterson, author of The Message

"The practice of traditional daily prayer is one of the church's richest resources for nourishing the spiritual life...Arthur Boers has given us one of the most thoughtful and accessible introductions to this practice available today." -John D. Witvliet, director, Calvin Institute of Christian Worship at Calvin College
