But reality tromps all over her expectations. Cassie’s job is abruptly eliminated–and her love life obliterated, when her longtime boyfriend dumps her for a “friend.” Her self-esteem in tatters, Cassie limps home to the resort town she once so eagerly fled–only to find her recently divorced mother transformed into a gorgeous fifty-something babe with a thriving social life. Unfortunately, reality soon stomps all over her expectations when she is laid off, her boyfriend dumps her, and her credit card debt has skyrocketed. In distress, Cassidy runs home seeking solace and refuge. What she finds instead is her newly divorced mother converted into a hot vibrant babe. Cassidy wrestles with jealousy and the need to find new direction for her life.
Melody Carlson has written a delightful story that engages the reader wholeheartedly in the struggles, adventures, and mishaps of a real Christian single woman. The tone is engaging and funny. The story is like a refreshing cool drink, carefully crafted to entertain and nourish the soul. The reader will fall in love with Cassidy and through her struggles learn some true lessons. Lessons like the fact the Gods plan for our lives is always a better fit than our own plans, even if they include a pair of ill-fitting boots. Vasthi Acosta, Christian Book Previews.com

Praise for Melody Carlson
“…any story by Carlson is worth encountering.”
“Melody Carlson’s style is mature and bitingly funny, and her gift for connecting our heart to the character’s plight also connects us to the complicated human condition and our need for one another.”
—PATRICIA HICKMAN, best-selling author of Fallen Angels and Sandpebbles
“Melody Carlson never fails to drag us out of our Christian easy chairs and right into the coals of the confusing culture in which we all find ourselves. She never fails to reveal that place of compassion within each of us. Excellent.”
—LISA SAMSON, author of The Church Ladies and Tiger Lillie

However I found this book to have no redeeming value. Most of the book is spent talking about non christian exploits of acquaintances and family. I found nothing humorous in this tale and will be careful not to choose another similar book by her.

Sometimes it's good to have something not so deep but still get a quality story with a solid Christian message to it. I would have enjoyed a little more chapters and detail at towards the end - it ended at bit quickly for my taste. Since I don't want to spoil it will leave it at that. Overall, I did enjoy this book!
