Product Description

The World-Shattering Ministry of Jesus guides learners through some of the most difficult and challenging teachings and practices. This seven-session study examines: a description of the world in which Jesus and his disciples conducted their ministry and how Jesus identified himself at the outset of that ministry; a commentary on the nature of sin and how Jesus came particularly to call to salvation those whom society labeled as sinners and outcasts; Jesus' "cleansing of the Temple" and the implications and consequences of that challenge to the authority of the religious leaders; the challenge Jesus posed to the interpretations of Scripture in his day and how that investment into a deeper meaning urged his hearers to a more faithful life; ways in which Jesus challenged and threateded the existing social order by reaching out to persons who were considered unclean and welcoming them into the community and the Kingdom; a radical reinterpretation of the use and possession of wealth; Jesus' call to a life of discipleshicp and how relinquishment of cherished ways of life bring transformation and liberty.
