The classic Weight of Glory by C.S. Lewis, the most important Christian writer of the 20th century, contains nine sermons delivered by Lewis during World War Two. The nine addresses in Weight of Glory offer guidance, inspiration, and a compassionate apologetic for the Christian faith during a time of great doubt.
Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics The Chronicles of Narnia. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and have been transformed into three major motion pictures.

Dr. Pepper5 Stars Out Of 5InspirationalNovember 26, 2016Dr. PepperQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was shocked when I saw there were only 2 reviews of this book. I had to sit right down and write. If you are a fan of C.S. Lewis, this is a must read. Everyone is familiar with his CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, but are less familiar with his essays. That is a shame because his essays are both informative and inspiring. When I read his essay THE WEIGHT OF GLORY it was one of those rare times that you read on because you are enjoying it so much, but you do not want to get to the end and be finished. I wept as I read Lewis' beautiful prose and got closer to his heart. Please do not miss reading this book. It deserves more than five stars. It is in a class of its own.

Lewis. This book is a collection of 9 sermons and addresses Lewis gave during WWII. Lewis explains the topics discussed in this book so clearly and profoundly. I highly recommend this book, not only as a wonderful apologetics book, but also importantly as a tool to better understanding and articulating the various aspects of the topics that are important to our society and culture today.
