Crumpets 'n' Cream5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic first book in the seriesJuly 12, 2018Crumpets 'n' CreamQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Ahhh, I loved this book. I did what I usually do and read book 2 in the series first, but only because I didn't know there was a book 1! So naturally I had to read this one.
IT IS SO GOOD. :) Loved it! I even knew certain characters showed up in the next book but was kept guessing throughout. Really didn't see all the twists and turns coming or how it was all going to resolve.
Be warned, it will keep you up until you're done (or at a semi-good stopping point, which, frankly, is going to be the end of the book). :) Another winner from Coble.

KavRCanadaGender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great ReadJune 19, 2018KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0There's nothing like a Colleen Coble romantic suspense to send a reader into a tilt-a-whirling tailspin of frenzied delight! Because the villains are diabolical and not always easy to spot and the heroine comes with emotional baggage and the hero wrestles with past decisions and there's murder and mayhem at ever turn and there is hope (however unrealistic it seems at first) in a happily-ever-after...if everyone can stay alive long enough to enjoy it!
Complex characters (and I DID NOT like Shauna at first!) I had to keep reminding myself that anger is a grieving stage but she is so over-the-top hard on Zach in the beginning! Gah! I wanted to throw my book, I was that steamed (but of course, I didn't because, contrary to these broiling emotions, I am, at heart, a gentle reader.) Phew! But she does figure things out and draws closer to the Lord in the process so I've forgiven her. And Zach -- oy -- constantly beating himself up over his friend's death because Shauna won't let him forget...wait, I'm not going there because I have forgiven her...I think. Maybe. Well, it's a process. My heart's in the right place even if my feelings are still a bit messed up. :-) Okay, we can tick the box that says this story is an emotional read! My favourite kind! Add in the twisty turn suspensey bits and you get the kind of page-turner that will keep you on edge right to the very end.
rkfall5 Stars Out Of 5A Great ReadMay 15, 2018rkfallQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This story is about a woman who is married with a 5-year-old son and her husband dies in a recreational activity. His best friend, who was with her husband at the time, plays such a great role in this book. This book is nailbiting at times and quite intense, which is just the way Colleen writes. I really enjoyed the preciousness of her son and her relationship with him. The grandmother and others surround him well and take great care of him. If you like mysterious, extreme reads, you'll like this one.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
