This review was written for The View from Rainshadow Bay - eBook.
This story is about a woman who is married with a 5-year-old son and her husband dies in a recreational activity. His best friend, who was with her husband at the time, plays such a great role in this book. This book is nailbiting at times and quite intense, which is just the way Colleen writes. I really enjoyed the preciousness of her son and her relationship with him. The grandmother and others surround him well and take great care of him. If you like mysterious, extreme reads, you'll like this one.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Colleen Coble's books always grip me from the first page. In this case, Shauna's husband, Jack, died in an accident. Shauna and her son, Alex, struggle to make ends meet. To make matters worse, a dear friend of Shauna's is murdered, making Shauna question everything. She is forced to rely on the last person she wants to - her dead husband's best friend, who was with her husband when he died.

The View from Rainshadow Bay is a fast paced, suspenseful story. I couldn't put it down and think this book is a great start to a wonderful series. I absolutely can't wait until the next installment.

I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson in exchange for an honest review which I have provided here. I was not required to leave a positive review.

4 stars- This is the first book in Colleens new Lavender Tides Series and is set in Washington State, near the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. This was a great start to the series. I enjoyed the storyline and really felt the connection between the main characters, Shauna and Zach. Their budding relationship felt natural and not forced.

The ways that the characters dealt with their circumstances made sense. Colleen did a great job of building the tension throughout the story and creating a compelling story. Even though I did suspect the culprit from the beginning, I still had no idea of the why and was still engrossed in the story and curious to figure out the mystery.

I also loved the shout out to Gwen Marcey. It was fun to see her pop up in the story.

I look forward to reading the next story in the series and returning to the beautiful little town of Lavender Tides.

I received a copy of this book for free. I was not required to post a positive review and the views and opinions expressed are my own.

Colleen Coble is the master of Christian romantic suspense, and The View from Rainshadow Bay is no exception. It starts with a murder in the Prologue, and the pace never lets up.

Its been a year, but Shauna McDade still blames Zach Bannister for the death of her husband. Unfortunately, she needs his help as a father-substitute for her sons class trip. Two murders and a mysterious box later, she needs Zachs help for more than just the class trip.

One of the items in the box is a unique necklace that belonged to Shaunas motherone that was supposed to have been buried with her. Shauna and Zach chase clues together, but there are no easy answers. Its a detailed plot, with lots of seemingly insignificant events coming together in an unexpected end twist (no spoilers, but I really hope this is fiction!).

And that makes it kind of hard to reviewpretty much anything I might want to say could be giving away a significant plot point. So Ill keep it simple and say that if youre a fan of Colleen Coble, Christian romantic suspense, or both, then youll want to read this book.

The View from Rainshadow Bay is the first in the new Lavender Tides series from Colleen Coble, so its a great place to start if youve never read her books before. Recommended.
