The Tapestry of Grace was an appropriate title for this tale set in Kansas among a group of Mennonite immigrants. The characters were compassionate and sought to make a difference in the lives of others. I appreciated how the women wanted to start a benevolent society to make sure no needs were unmet.

The cast of main characters Konrad, Augusta and Martina each had needs but preferred reaching out to others. The unexpected with multiple twists and turns gave way to more than the characters or women could of imagined for their community. A beautiful Christian historical filled with a theme of grace being found when letting go and letting God lead.

I read a paperback copy of this book from our library. I have expressed my own opinion.

The Tapestry of Grace, as its title suggests, is another gentle story of hope from the pen of one of my very favorite authors, Kim Vogel Sawyer. Some of the characters are inspired by the lives and experiences of her own Mennonite grandparents who immigrated to the United States.

It is very easy to step into the lives of these 1890s residents of Alexandertol, Kansas, because they are crafed to be so real from the very first pages of the book. Several individuals are suffering the effects of deep personal losses and are dealing with them in a variety of ways -- some very directly and others hardly at all. The author gently and carefully crafts their stories into a beautiful weaving of God's tapestry of grace that is much better than their own plans.

I highly recommend The Tapestry of Grace to fans of great Christian historical fiction. Thanks to the author and her publisher for providing a copy of the book. I am happy to share my own thoughts in this review.

I loved the characters in this fantastic story. I loved that Augusta and Martina wanted to help Konrad each in a different way and for different reasons. I loved the inspiration in the story. I loved how I laughed and cry over this story. I received a copy of this story from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I laughed out loud. I cried happy tears. I put my fist in the air and cheered. My chest actually hurt from my heart swelling.

It has been a long while since a Christian romance has affected me this way and I am not disappointed about that.

This book follows 3 points of view: Konrad, a widower with twin sons. Augusta, a widow with a daughter. Martina, a middle-aged married woman with no children. Their stories are set in a recently settled Mennonite community and weave in and out of each other in the most beautiful ways.

Konrad is not perfect but he is so lovable. His point of view was my least favorite, but also necessary for the story. His were the parts I cheered for. Augusta is solid and faithful but sometimes misses the nuances of life. But she often made me laugh and always had me smiling. Martina's story was my favorite. Her story, which includes her husband Gerhard, is one of growth, restoration, finding contentment, and the beauty of grace. It was in her parts that my heart about burst and I cried happy tears.

I received and ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
