We home school our 4 boys (grades 5,4,3,1). We studied from this book for the past several months. I read the chapter aloud (as the vocabulary can be challenging), our boys narrated, wrote a daily book report about the chapter. We used this book for our vocabulary, spelling, and arts and crafts. We LOVED this story. It was filled with adventure and godly family principals. It was a great story for us to base our studies out of. I would highly recommend it to others.

This book should be required reading in every Christian household. The Disney movie was good, but can't hold a candle to the original. My sons loved this book and it can be read aloud to young children as well. For boys in particular this is a great story of adventure, rugged invention, moral behavior, and dependence on God.

I have looked for several years for an unabridged version of the book, and was thrilled with the quality. Would live to have a hardback version for my collection.
