Tell us a little about yourself. I'm 69 years old and I have spent most of my life in the state of Vermont. I am an avid outdoorsman and grew up in a small town near the Canadian border. From the time I was 11 years old I would walk five miles by myself to my favorite hunting grounds in search of gray squirrels. As I got older I traveled throughout the west on hunting trips and eventually became an elk guide in the Thorofare of Wyoming, the most remote place in the continental U.S. I have written several stories about my hunting and guiding exploits that were published in national magazines. I became a born again Christian over 40 years ago and often conduct the services in our church when the pastor is away. I also write and have recorded Christian music with friends.
What was your motivation behind this project? I am always trying to stay aware of how the Holy Spirit is leading me. To describe my motivation is difficult because first of all I wanted to write The Story of Camo Kitty because it is a true story filled with the presence of God. My life as a child was very difficult due to alcoholism in the family. I wanted to share that even if you have a troublesome start in life God can change everything.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My hopes are that people both young and old will understand that God can turn even the worst of circumstances into something good.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was very excited because even though many obstacles arose, the Holy Spirit worked everything out.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Dr. Robert Schuller, Norman Vincent Peale,
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Even though I grew up as one who enjoys hunting and fishing, I have a deep love and appreciation for wildlife. Through my travels and at home in Vermont I continue to be in awe of all God has created.
