All-American point guard Lootie Pfannder (Jamie Lunner) is hired to coach the basketball team at a small private girls school. She's not exactly what the dean---and former coach---expected! But in spite of opposition and tragedy, Lootie's unorthodox style turns a group of perennial losers into championship contenders. Also features Mark-Paul Gosselaar. The St. Tammany Miracle is a tale of faith, inspiration and basketball. Approx. 90 minutes.
I read the bad reviews and purchased it anyway. I realize that this a budget film and I bought it because of the price. However, where filming lacks quality the message of , hope, prayer , hard work and comittment makes this movie a keeper for me. I especially loved the prayer prayed in Jesus name and sweet love story that wrapped the whole movie up.
The story about a girls high school with a new basketball coach was a bit contrived. One of the actors was pretty good, the rest really needed more 'coaching.' By the end I didn't care if they won or lost. Other movies based on true stories did a better job of promoting women's sports and sharing some spiritual encouragement.
