Love Comes Home

All Maggie West has ever wanted is a family to call her own. But her new neighbor, single dad Kellen Ashby, is definitely not the man to make that dream come true. His daughters are sweet and silly, the kind of kids Maggie used to imagine having herself. But Kellen has just inherited the inn Maggie manages—her former family home—and the two butt heads at almost every turn. He's handsome, and clearly a devoted father, but with all the changes taking place, Maggie worries she may soon be jobless, homeless or both. At war with her emotions, Maggie will have to decide what truly matters—heart or home.

This book is the 3rd in the Goose Harbor series, but you can read it without reading the others before.

This is the first book that I have read by Jessica and I loved it, can't wait to read more books by her.

The Single Dad Next Door is about Maggie West and Kellen Ashby. Maggie grew up in Goose Harbor and when Maggie ran out of money after her mother died she sold the house to Ida Ashby the aunt of Kellen and it was turned into an Inn. Then when Ida passed away she left the Inn to Kellen and she made sure that Maggie would be taken care of. When Maggie and Kellen fist meet they don't get along. Kellen has two little girls. I don't want to give anything more away so please read it for yourself, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Maggie West works at the West Oaks Inn Bed & Breakfast. Single, mid-thirties and longing for a family, kids & a husband who loves her. She's given up that dream for so long, she starts to believe she's fine on her own. Since the passing of Ida, her friend and mentor, she throws herself into her job.

Kellen Ashby inherits the Inn from his Aunt Ida and moves himself and his two girls to Goose Harbor. He hopes to remodel the Inn and save up the revenue it will bring towards his girls future. They take up residence in the small cottage next door. He's ready to forget about his past & forge a new life for his family.

When the two meet, sparks fly & not the romantic kind! Maggie's afraid that Kellen will uproot her & take away everything that's she's worked hard to accomplish. He's confident that she's taken advantage of his aunt & sets out to prove it! One still lives in the past and the other only looks to the future. Will these two ever see eye to eye?

This story pulled me back into Goose Harbor, Michigan and revisit old friends. The town gets under your skin and the characters are so real that you cheer them on or cry with them or just hang out for coffee! This was the third book in the series and I certainly can't wait for more! Maggie & Kellen had a lot to deal with in their past, old hurts & possibly new ones too, to be able to be open to God's healing of their hearts. This was a very heart-warming story with some great real life lessons to be learned. I loved seeing the relationship between Maggie, Kellen, Skylar & Ruthy develop but most of all, their relationship with the Lord grow & change. Jessica did a wonderful job of creating a story so real with characters you can picture in your mind! After the end of the book, I feel like I've grown in my own relationship with the Lord! That's always a bonus for me, an author who stays true to their own faith in God through their stories.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review, which I have given here! Thank you Jessica, I look forward to the rest of the Goose Harbor series!

Maggie West is struggling through life, she has given up on any hope she ever had of a happy life and family. She is just doing what she can to keep on keeping on. Then, Kellen Ashby rolls into town.

He is handsome but he is also her new boss. He doesn't really know it but he holds her whole life in his hands. Can she let go and let God?

I really enjoyed this book. I used to love to read the Love Inspired books as a teenager, but they were somewhat simple with a very quick storyline and not much content. I am happy to say this book was very different than the ones I remembered. Jessica's book had emotion and drama and it felt like real life. It was believable and engaging. I couldn't put the book down. It was fast moving and kept my attention throughout. Each character tugged at my heartstrings and made me like them and want to see them succeed. I loved Kellen's two little girls Skylar and Ruthy, they reminded me so much of my two girls. The most surprising part of this book was the amount of spiritual content. Lots of great Scriptures and references to God and his will.

Such a refreshing change to the pocket books that I used to read. I would say anything by Jessica Keller is going to be worth reading. Her writing style was great. Just enough detail, while still managing to get to the point of the story. I am definitely a new fan of hers for sure. Worth the price and worth the time to read. The Single Dad Next Door doesn't disappoint.

I was blessed with this book by the author as part of her street team in exchange for my review.

The Single Dad Next Door tugged at my heartstrings! Jessica Keller drew me into the story with her wonderful characterization and vivid details and descriptions. I easily envisioned Goose Harbor and the West Oaks Inn, with its treasure trove of memories and keepsakes. Maggie and Kellen are such vulnerable characters, and I enjoyed spending time with them and experiencing their emotional and spiritual journeys. The spiritual threads were beautifully woven through the story and included several thought-provoking passages. This inspirational romance warmed my heart, and I look forward to visiting Goose Harbor again and again!

I received a complimentary copy of The Single Dad Next Door in exchange for an unbiased review. I appreciate the opportunity to read this story and share my thoughts.

The Single Dad Next Door is part of Jessica Keller's Goose Harbor series. This book can be read as a stand-alones or as ifvyou can read the series. In this book, innkeeper Maggie West finally gets her story!

Maggie runs an inn in the home she's lived in most of her life. Seemingly overnight, her life is turned upside down. Her dear friend Ida passes away, leaving her home and the inn to her mysterious nephew Kellen not Maggie. Will the secret that Maggie sold the inn come out? Will she be homeless and unemployed? Kellen's a single dad with 2 adorable girls who move in next door. Kellen wonders if Maggie is a user and gold-digger like his ex. Maggie falls in love with the girls giving them the maternal attention they crave. Can Kellen see the real Maggie? When Kellen decides to renovate the inn destroying Maggie's ancestral home, I felt her loss and sadness. I got a sense of Maggie wondering "Is God trying to take everything away??" and struggling with her faith. Prayer was a constant in this book which I enjoyed. Jessica Keller didn't make all prayers answered immediately - She made it real! Some prayers were answered quickly, some took time, and some weren't answered the way the characters wanted. Really glad she made the story so real.
