"In these uncertain times, I know 100 percent that I can stake my life on the unshakeable, unchanging promises of God!" SHEILA WALSH
Where do you turn for shelter in the worst storms of life?
You know Gods promises, but are they for you, are they for now, are they for this? If you look to your circumstances alone, it may seem that God has forgotten you. But He hasnt. He cant. And He wouldnt even if He could. God is the only promise maker who is always a promise keeper. And Gods promises will never fail you!
In The Shelter of Gods Promises, gifted Bible teacher and inspiring Women of Faith speaker Sheila Walsh searches Scripture for what God has promised us, what Gods promises mean, and how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of His unrelenting commitment to us. Through vulnerable storytelling, new insights, and an in-depth Bible study, Sheila offers powerful, heart-filled teaching on ten bedrock promises of God, providing the foundation for daily confidence, joy, hopeand shelter.
Sheila Walsh is a powerful communicator, Bible teacher, and bestselling author with more than five million books sold. She is the author of the award-winning Gigi, Gods Little Princess series, Peace for Today, Loved Back to Life, The Storm Inside, Five Minutes with Jesus and The Longing in Me. She is cohost of Life Today with James and Betty Robison. Sheila lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, Barry, and son, Christian.

The Gigi, God's Little Princess book and video series has won the National Retailer's Choice Award twice and is the most popular Christian brand for young girls in the United States.
Sheila co-hosted The 700 Club and her own show Heart to Heart with Sheila Walsh. She is currently completing her Masters in Theology.
One of the greatest gifts that I have been given in my life is to be able to share my own story, how God even in the darkest moments, took my hand and walked with me.
In the last few years, however, there has been a shift inside me. I still believe in the power of sharing our stories with each other. They are the candles that we hold up in the darkness. But nothing will ever compare to the power of the Word of God. It is God's Word that has the power to hold us through the fiercest storms. It is God's Word that shows us how to live in a world that has largely turned it's back on our Father. It is God's Word that allows us to stand firm when everything else seems to be falling apart. That is why I have a renewed commitment to teach and write books that concentrate on going deeper into God's Word and learning what He has promised us.
In the course of my work with Women Of Faith, my daily journey, and living in community with other believers, I find that most of us are trying to make it through this life with inadequate resources. As I have weathered my own storms, God has brought me to a place where He has shown me the power of His promises. There are over 3,000 promises in the Bible, and as Paul writes to the Church in Corinth, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God." 2:10 (NIV)
All the promises of God find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. In the atoning death of Christ, we see that God kept His most difficult promise of all, and He will never fail us.
For the very first time I have been given the opportunity of providing you with so much more than just a book. As well as my new book, "The Shelter Of God's Promises," I have developed and recorded a ten week DVD Bible study for churches and women's studies. It can also be used for individual study. I am so excited to make these available to you and to your church. And for the first time I've asked my publisher. Thomas Nelson, to release these books in paperback so they will be more cost-effective to you.
Let me close with just one of the ten promises covered in the book. This is found in one of the my favorite chapters in the New Testament, Romans 8: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Sheila Walsh's The Shelter of God's Promises reassures readers of God's promises and unfaltering reliability. Each of the ten chapters are focused on a different theme: Walsh addresses promises, provision, peace, confidence, love, grace, hope, strength, more/something better and home. Whether you are feeling alone, broken, loveless or poor, The Shelter of God's Promises will life your spirits. Walsh intersperses personal narratives and in-depth Bible study throughout her book. Each chapter has a designated Bible study guide with assigned readings from the Bible and discussion questions. Walsh's book isn't just for people experiencing difficult times. Readers at any stage of life will benefit from its messages. Although this is a useful tool for Bible studies, Walsh's personal anecdotes occasionally distract her message. However, the positive features of the book outweigh its faults.

Ms. Walsh knows where you are - maybe not the specific details - but she has been there, and she can help you through your "stuff." This has been a very valuable resource for me in a time when I truly wasn't sure I would make it through.

It is an excellent refresher for those that already know the Lord and a Great study for the newly saved. Gods promises nver change or fail. This study reenforced the promises of God in our lives. I would highly recommend this as a group or an individual study. No matter how many times we read a passage God shows us what we need to see at that time in our lives.
