Joan5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome BookJuly 22, 2021JoanQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This was an awesome book. Nancy Naigle did a wonderful job creating a story with very believable and lovable characters. People and shells right where you need them when you need them. You can see God's hand at work in this book. I hated for it to end. I highly recommend it to everyone. Tissue highly recommended also. Loved this book!
KrisFairfax, VAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Love this book but have some tissues readyJuly 17, 2021KrisFairfax, VAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a sweet, wonderful book! Full disclosure; have tissues ready when reading this one! There were so many parts I loved about this book; I loved the wonderful relationship formed between Maeve and Amanda, multigenerational and so precious. I loved the beach descriptions. And the mystery of the shells that randomly showed up. Although there is some sweet romance, it did not seem like a romance book to me but rather a book on seeing people as they are, where they are. I loved it and highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
AnnelrBrighton, MIAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Heartwarming story of friendshipMay 25, 2021AnnelrBrighton, MIAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a wonderfully sweet story. I loved this story about friendships and second chance romance. Nancy Naigle has written a heartwarming story about the gift of new friends and old ones too in her newest book, The Shell Collector. Amanda and her two young children are dealing with the grief of losing their husband and father. Starting over seems like the right thing to do and yet there are struggles to overcome in their new situation too. Meeting Maeve is a God-send and the friendship evolves into such a special relationship. The characters are strong, realistic, and relatable, people I'd love to know in real life! People who breathe 'new joy in each other's lives.' Lots of interesting tidbits about life on the Whelk's Island in North Carolina, a trip to a Southern plantation to see the Spanish Moss, and shells with messages that seem to show up at just the right time to just the right person. I am so looking forward to reading more from this author.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
Sandra Burson5 Stars Out Of 5Highly RecommendMay 16, 2021Sandra BursonQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This was my first book by Nancy Naigle, but it will not be my last. Just a note of caution, make sure that you have Tissues close at hand when you read this novel. Do not let this warning keep you from reading one of the best stories you will read all year. I can not recommend it enough. It contains love and loss, heartache and healing, family, faith and second chances. There is not one thing it lacked, you will not be disappointed.
I thank Waterbrook Press for allowing me, through NetGalley, to read this book. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
