fun4 Stars Out Of 5the shackDecember 9, 2017funQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I've read the five previous reviewers. I am a bible, Christ centered believing christian. Since this movies is man made, I don't expect perfection. What i do like about this movie is it presents an aspect of a loving God, that is trustworthy and in absolute control. The scene in the garden with the Holy Spirit illustates, (as much of the movie does), that we see life in our limited wisdom. God's thoughts and ways are not our thoughts and ways. He is constantly at work in our lives. We must trust and obey and leave the rest to Him. We are not to judge, but be discerning.with His truth.
Obviously, no one come to the Father unless Christ's righteousness is imputed onto him, through faith and God's grace. Maybe this movie didn't make this point adequately in some peoples minds. The value I find in this movie is in its depiction of a loving God, God's handy work in the circumstances of life, the Trinity, God's omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and our fraility and need for a savior. God presue us! It's all about relationships.... horizontal and vertical. This movie I think has accomplished that. Not a masterpiece, but brings to mind ideas about who and what God is in relation to us.
mg5 Stars Out Of 5The ShackDecember 4, 2017mgQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Watching "The Shack" is like spending a little bit of time in heaven, experiencing the love of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. While I agree that there are a couple parts that I find difficult as a Christian, I also think that trying to take the movie apart into theological pieces is like staring up close at the brush strokes on the Mona Lisa. The movie is meant to be a work of art, not a textbook. Overall, The Shack tells profound truths about God's love and how he works through the dark moments in our lives.
Co.f1 Stars Out Of 5The Shack should not be considered "Christian" and sold on this siteNovember 3, 2017Co.fQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I believe this movie is unbiblical, and I had a hard time giving it one star. I am in complete agreement with the reviews by "JP" and "Saddened". For those that feel it makes them think, well, be careful as it is intended to make you think and absorb one lie after another and by the end of the move you will question or even abandon the Biblical truth if you don't have your guard up or your armour on. It is creatively tricking you and many others to believe a fantasy and sway you from the truths that are written in the Bible. Don't be deceived! I found it very dark and evil. This movie leads you to believe there is no judgement, that if God is loving he cant judge & wont judge you. The truth is Because God is Just and Loving there will be Judgment -God wouldn't deceive you but this movie does- We can chose to follow Christ and accept him as our Lord & Savior so that we will be blameless on judgement day only because Jesus paid our penalty in full on the cross...know that salvation is through Christ alone! The movie Suggests salvation will be for everyone, makes you feel guilty for thinking God will be judgemental, then creatively teaches you that you are already saved. I am actually surprised this movie can be sold at this Christian Book Store after so many critics raise serious concerns. Is there not some kind of biblical criteria that movies must pass, prior to their sale and distribution on this site? Bookstores must think carefully about their roll in selling a book that is in such opposition to the Bible and profiting by it.
JP1 Stars Out Of 5Theologically horrificOctober 21, 2017JPQuality: 3Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This movie portrays God in a way that is totally unbiblical. God does not require the repentance for sin or does one need to trust in Christ as Lord and Savior in order to be saved according to this story. One of the worst movies we have seen.
